With oversized everything currently trending, I was inspired when I found this Texas-sized, patent leather belt in my closet. I haven’t worn it in several years, but after seeing these oversized belt looks on Who What Wear a few weeks ago, I decided to style it for a wear-to-work look.
To add a little bit of playfulness to the look, I paired this leopard turban headband and neon red lipstick. This is a fun look for the office, but bring a lightweight sweater for those cold boardroom meetings.
Fall has made itself official, and just in time for the actual cool weather to hit, I’ve put together my personal list of fashion necessities for fall 2014 – and all for unbeatable prices. Several online retailers are having amazing sales right now, so I pulled both from both current sales going on and some of my favorite online stores to find steals. Read on to see my list of must-haves this season…
60’s Inspired Sunnies – Sixties fashion is in full force for fall, and these sunnies help you add a quick touch. **ASOS is running 25% off fall styles.
New Orleans is one of my absolute favorite cities in America. The rich culture, delicious food, and French-inspired architecture make for a Southern city unlike any other. On a recent summer trip there to visit family, I had the pleasure of touring the gorgeous Antebellum-style Lone Vue Home and Gardens, and I wanted to share my look here on the blog. I especially loved the gorgeous trees that lined the entrance to the home, forming a dome of lush leaves and branches above.
Fall fashion is in full-force and to celebrate, I’m hosting a giveaway of this gorgeous necklace from Chloe + Isabel by Jenny Heaton. Entering to win is simple! Just head over to my Instagram or Facebook page and answer this question by responding as a comment to the picture of the necklace: “What fall trend are you most excited about?” One lucky gal will win this perfect-for-fall necklace that I styled above. The contest ends this Friday, September 19th at midnight CST and the winner will be announced this Saturday. Who doesn’t love fall?
The rich colors and luxe textures of fall are always something to look forward to. I especially love getting to layer up and getting out the jackets that have been gaining dust in the back of the closet (at least for us Texans). This fall, I’m really excited about all of the gingham and plaid that’s trending (if you can’t tell). This black and white plaid button up is nearly dress length and I love the preppy-but-undone look it creates when pairing it with a sweater like this olive colored one. Distressed jeans are in again and I love the drops of bleach on the ones I styled above. Don’t put away your sandals just yet – wedges and platform sandals are still in for fall. Although these platform wedges took a little getting used to walking in, I absolutely love the subtle but statement height they create.
Austin is home to so many amazing restaurants and coffee shops, and Hillside Farmacy on the East Side offers up both in the most darling, welcoming setting. Rocking a look from my new favorite Austin clothing label, Rare Trends, Hillside was the perfect place to enjoy a weekend iced coffee and pastry outdoors.
