Happy Hump Day! By the time Wednesday comes around, I’m already thinking about the weekend, which means planning my outfits, like this one, which is perfect for a formal date night or a special occasion. If you all follow me on instagram, you probably saw a sneak peek of this amazing dress (which I almost wore to a wedding but went with a floor length dress instead). It’s so gorgeous and the price point is so ridiculously amazing ($27!) that I had to share more of the details here on the blog.

There are so many things to love about this dress. From the pretty scallop trim to the open back, it is so unique yet still classy enough to wear to a more formal event. I especially love how flattering the fit it – the bottom is fitted like a skirt and the top draps loosely, giving it the look of a skirt and top combo.

To style it, I opted for simple, neutral accessories (I know – shocker – NO color!) These pearlescent Tassel earrings and this amazing Kelly Wynne fringe clutch made the perfect statement while these classic black pumps tied the whole look together. I went with a low curled ponytail to accentuate the open back feature of the dress.

This is definitely one of my favorite dresses and it will be on repeat in my closet.

Happy Tuesday! Now that it’s actually fall in Texas (as in the temperatures are staying below 80 and there are actual leaves on the ground), I’m sharing the coziest fall layering look with you all, featuring my favorite plaid flannel and knit cardigan of the season so far. There’s something about a good plaid print paired with a knit cardigan or sweater that just epitomizes fall – I found this red plaid button up flannel at Nordstrom (order up a size it runs small!) and loved the way it looked beneath my go-to cardigan.

To style it, I paired a pair of dark washed denim with my trusty Walin and Wolff rain boots (the weather has been crazy here in Texas, no thanks to the Hurricane.) I always love to add a bit of sparkle, and my favorite way to do it with a collared shirt is to tuck a statement necklace beneath the collar, like this one from Kendra Scott (similar here).

This is a staple fall look that you can wear practically anywhere!

Happy Sunday! I usually spend my Sunday’s preparing for the week ahead, which includes putting together outfits for the week (so I’m not throwing around clothes frantically every morning). This was one of those outfits born from a week-prepping Sunday (last Sunday, in fact), so maybe it will help inspire a new fall outfit for you too.

You nay have seen this mock neck striped shirt earlier on the blog, and this promises not to be the last outfit I feature it in – it’s so wearable and perfect for layering! I paired it up with this gorgeous emerald faux fur vest and paired my go-to distressed jeans. These Sam Edelman boots were probably my favorite purchase I made in the Nordstrom Anniversary sale, and lucky for you – they’re still in stock! I’m usually not a hat gal, but this felt fedora was the perfect addition to the look. I kept it simple with my heels, pairing these Kendra Scott earrings, a monogram pendant necklace (only have 2 months left to wear it, y’all!) and a two-tone navy face watch.

Wishing everyone a wonderful week!

Happy almost-weekend! Today’s look is a fun, casual and perfect for a mild fall day. I found this sweater dress for a steal and instantly loved the striped pattern and pretty pastel colors. To style it, I opted for my go-to chambray button up (similar style currently on sale!) to tie around my waist to add dimension and to have just in case it got a little chilly as the day went on. I paired my brown leather Jack Rogers riding boots for easy-all day wear and walking and matched it up with my fringe crossbody bag. For accessories, I played up the pastel hues in the dress with these blush tinted frames from Express and I added a little bling with this statement necklace.

I love this look for a casual date night!

Alice in Wonderland Costume

It’s hard to believe that Halloween is just around the corner, and while I’m not a big fan of the scary, spooky parts of Halloween it probably won’t come as a surprise when I tell you that I absolutely love dressing up. It was playing dress up when I was a little girl, after all, that sparked my love for fashion. So when my friends at Shabby Apple reached out to me about styling one of their dresses as a Halloween costume, I said absolutely! As I perused their website, I only had one stipulation for my costume choice – it had to be a Disney character. While I debated on turning this gorgeous fuchsia skirt into an Anastasia ugly step sister costume, I saw this little number (which comes complete with an adorable blue tie bow and is on MAJOR SALE) and I immediately thought of the most curious and adorable of Disney characters, Alice from Alice in Wonderland, and made my choice. Then I set off to find the other key pieces to making my Alice costume come to life.

The other key part of Alice’s look is her apron, which I found on Amazon for a steal. Then to accessorize, I needed black ballerina flats like these comfy staples I found at Nordstrom and a small bow headband, which I found on Etsy. For the final touch, I needed white tights, which I swapped for this polka dot version by Wolford to add a little something whimsical to the look. Voila! My alice costume was complete.

Thanks for journeying through the rabbit hole with me. And now I’m off to a tea party. It is my un-birthday after all.
