Why You Should Shop the Nordstrom Sale
I’ve had a couple of funny comments on my N Sale instagram posts about why or how I’m wearing all of this fall/winter stuff in the Texas heat (which is a very fair question, I might add). Let me just disclose that I’m not actually wearing this stuff in real life (for this shoot for example, I brought some flip slops to wear with the dress to dinner with my photog-husband Cole after the shoot.) The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is a bit odd-seeming at first when you think of buying boots and sweater in July, but that’s what’s so great about it! This sale is so unique in the fact that Nordstrom is the only retailer to majorly mark down brand new fall product BEFORE fall actually starts rather than after as many retailers do. This way you get your must-have fall and winter pieces at a discount and actually get to enjoy and wear them all season long. It’s genius!
Now onto this dress. 😉 Its definitely a wear-now and wear-later piece, but the long sleeves definitely make it perfect for fall. I absolutely adore the little bell sleeve detail and the open back adds an unexpected, feminine touch that I just adore. The dress comes in so many different solid colors and patterns, but I was so drawn to this blue floral print. For sizing references, either order your regular size or a size down for a less-loose fit. I’m in between a small and an extra small and I went with the extra small in this dress. Note that the dress will go up to it’s regular price of $48 on August 8th when the sale is over so if you love it as much as I do, act now!
To style the dress, I wanted to go for a fall look, so I started with these amazing tall suede boots by UGG. These were such a good N Sale buy – not only are they super chic, but they’re crazy comfortable and water resistant, so they’ll be perfect for those crazy winter weather. I got them in this warm Chestnut Suede hue, but they also come in a cooler brown hue and a grey and black. To finish the look, I carried this amazing faux leather tote (a $35 steal in the sale!)
To accessorize the dress, I oped for subtle sparkle with this Kendra Scott tassel necklace that’s also on sale in the Nordstrom Sale and these BaubleBar earrings that are marked down to under $20!
This is the perfect outfit for a fall brunch or date night.
