Earlier this week the amazing photographer I work with, Angie Garcia, and I shot at the most darling, whimsical little vintage book store ever…the Backdoor Book Shop in downtown Fort Worth. It was hard to keep myself from shopping, but I loved getting to shoot in a place that holds so many stories, both in the thousands of books and editions we were surrounded by and the people who once owned them. There’s something so magical about a book that’s been read before. From the dog-eared pages to the wear and tear of the binds, you get a feel of how long each book has been around. Being in such an amazing space reminded me of how much I used to LOVE reading books. Ever since I started blogging, I have’t had much free time for it (or, rather, I haven’t made much free time for it), but this little adventure reminded me that I need to pick up this old pastime of mine. But, I digress, let’s get back to the actual purpose of this library photoshoot which was to show you one of my favorite ways to style a sweater dress…with jeans! Click through to get the full scoop and see all of the shots we got from our vintage book store photoshoot.

PS -I would LOVE your suggestions on books I should read!? Answer in the comments below!

With Valentine’s Day just around the corner (and with all of the craziness happening in the world today), I thought it would be the perfect time to share this playful and colorful outfit that shares a message from a song by one of my favorite bands…”all you need is love.” Growing up, my dad was always a fan of The Beatles, but it wasn’t until recent years that I grew such a love and appreciation for the ground-breaking, record-setting band. Nowadays, I have their songs on repeat during long drives or for when I’m cleaning the house and I can’t get enough!!

Hi friends! Does anyone else feel like this is the first week back to reality after the holidays?! It’s been a rough start for me, but I’m finally getting my ducks in a row and I’m back in acton with some fun new blog posts to start the new year off. Today’s outfit (which I had every intention of getting up on the blog on the week of the premiere!) was inspired by the latest of the Star Wars series: The Last Jedi. Although I’m tardy on getting this post up, I did head off to the theaters to see the movie on the weekend it was released, and it was AMAZING!! Arguably the best Star Wars movie to date!! I’ve already been back to see it again, and in case you haven’t, I urge you to get tickets to see it ASAP…you can thank me later!

Winter is practically here, y’all. One of the first unfortunate signs of winter’s arrival is how quickly it affects my skin. The dry, cold air means dry, dull skin (and always having extra chapstick and lotion handy). It’s around this time that my beauty routine needs a moisturization upgrade. The trouble with most ultra-hydrating moisturizers is that they leave that sticky, heavy feeling behind, which is why I’m SO excited about one of my go-to brand’s newest moisturizer:  Olay Whips! It’s a new moisturizer from the skincare brand you know and trust that instantly absorbs into your skin, providing the ultimate hydrating look and feel without any heaviness or residue left behind.
