The mouse is out of the bag…this girl is a major Disney parks lover! Between Disney World and Disneyland, I’ve visited the parks nearly a dozen times in the last few years (and even had my bachelorette party there – catch the details here!), but you may be surprised to know that many of the trips were for RunDisney races. After completing my third and fourth RunDisney races at the 2016 Wine and Dine Half at Walt Disney World (I even got to be in a video with the Oh My Disney Team!! Click through to watch it!) and the Super Heroes Half at Disneyland with my friends from Mistfit (they make the most amazing activity trackers!!) I’ve decided to put together a post rounding up all of the reasons why YOU should totally run a RunDisney race, featuring photos and details from all of my RunDisney experiences. Whether you like or love Disney (or are a total Disnerd like me!); whether you’re an avid runner or have never really ran at all, RunDisney races are the perfect way to get fit and have a ton of fun along the way.

If you follow me on instagram, you’ll probably know that I recently had the privilege of visiting the beautiful city of Long Beach to experience the active side of the California beach town. From bike riding to see the city’s gorgeous Pow! Wow! wall murals to long boarding for the first time and having a face to face experience with a real-life sea turtle, this trip was full of the exciting, the unexpected and the beautiful. We were even accompanied by two Long Beach locals who knew the best things to do, places to eat and where to go!
Read on to hear all about my long weekend in Long Beach (and we did A LOT in just 2 and a half days, so prepare for loads of photos!)
If you follow me on Instagram, you’ll probably know that I recently went on the BEST.TRIP.EVER with my side of the family and Cole on a true California Adventure. My family has always been a road trip kind of clan. I have endless memories of making the 15-ish hour drive from Dallas to Colorado with my Gigi and Poppy and all of my cousins, uncles and aunts in between to go on our annual family ski trip since I was in diapers. There’s something about exploring the beauty of our nation from the window from your car with those you love that feels so authentically American. As if the endless conversations, games, snack stopping and music playing is enough to want to go on a road trip every now and then, this drive was absolutely breathtakingly stunning.
From LAX to San Fransisco, read on to hear about each of our stops on our California road trip adventure.
If you follow me on instagram, you may have gotten a peek at me and my bestie/fellow blogger babe Olivia from Livvyland‘s staycation at the gorgeous W Hotel Austin. Previously having lived in Austin for six years, I’d attended a few events at the W Hotel, but I’d never actually stayed there, so I was super excited to get the full experience with one of my favorite gal pals on our two-night staycation.
Side note – this post is a mix of iPhone photos from instagram and photos from our cameras, so the coloring isn’t perfect. 😉
Being a Dallas girl, you may wonder why I’d call a two-night stay in Austin a staycation. While the staycation did entail a 3 hour drive up 35 on my end, since I called Austin home for six years of my life, I like to call the city my second home. Staycations have recently grown in popularity because they meet so many of the needs of a regular vacation, minus the cost of the plane ticket. We plan vacations to get away from it all and enjoy a little rest and relaxation and the reality is, you can do that right in your own city. There are so many things in both Dallas and Austin that I haven’t done before, and dozens of hotels I’ve never stayed at, so the experience at the W Hotel ATX was really such a treat.
If you can’t tell, the Wet Pool – a rooftop pool and bar was probably our favorite part of the hotel. This gorgeous pool overlooks the iconic Lady Bird Lake in Austin and offers up the most amazing views of downtown.
Since we arrived on Sunday, we headed for the pool party they were having at the Wet Pool and as you can see, Olivia and I made an entrance with our twinning bikinis. Hilarious thing is – we totally didn’t plan this. Each of us had only brought 1 bikini and as we were unpacking we both stated we brought a Vix swimwear bikini and then as Olivia started describing hers I was like, “SHUT.UP. I brought the exact same one!” It was definitely an LOL moment and a conversation starter at the pool (this party was happening y’all – SO many people there!)
Since we loved the pool so much on Sunday, we headed back there on Monday morning for a more relaxing poolside session. The drinks they offer at the bar are super delicious. We enjoyed a few margaritas before
Next up, we headed to the W’s delicious restaurant – Trace Kitchen. Before the delightful feast of fresh, healthy and oh-so-delicious food arrived, I was mesmerized by the interior of the gorgeous restaurant. I had to take some notes for my own dream home I’m constantly designing in my head – just look at the gorgeous tufted velvet seating at that gold starburst chandelier?! So dreamy!
Thanks to it being a Monday, there weren’t a ton of people dining, so we practically had the place to ourselves. We started with a cocktail and I tried the jalapeno margarita. SO yummy! It’s a must-have if you ever stop by. Just the perfect amount of spicy sweet (and not too spicy at all – I’m not a fan of spicy!) Rather than having to choose off their amazing menu, they brought out the most amazing platter of samples from their entire seasonal menu. We were so stuffed from the delicious food we nearly needed a nap after. Trace is definitely a must-try is you’re in the Austin area.
Post lunch, Livv and I were both in a food coma, so we spent some time relaxing and catching up on our emails in the room. The beds were just heavenly and the room was super beautiful too, with a fantastic view! They even provided us with a little champagne and a note – and chocolates before bed, so sweet – we felt right at home (if only my actual home was as swanky!)
Our staycation was truly all I ever wanted – just a couple of days to step away from the mess of my home office (I just can’t ever keep it clean!) to relax and have a little girl time. I highly recommend a staycation to anyone and everyone, no matter what city you live in (or live near!) It certainly won’t be my last. 😉
Happy first day of summer! The season of travel is upon us and in honor of today’s official start to my personal favorite month of the year, I’m sharing an IG Costa Rica roundup from my recent trip to beautiful Nosara to celebrate one of my best friend and fellow blogger babe Olivia from Livvyland’s bachelorette party.
The trip was truly incredible, from monkey and tarantula sightings to zip-lining and soaking up the sun on the beach, we made incredible memories and it was such fun celebrating Olivia before she becomes Mrs. Printy. Olivia chose a mermaid theme for her bach festivities (and I was like YAAAASSSS!!!) and we all went in on renting the most gorgeous house ever in the middle of beautiful Nosara, Costa Rica. I could go over the trip in detail, but I’m pretty sure my photos coverage can give you a peek at our adventures (plus, I’m pretty certain Livvy’s working on a blog roundup that will go in full detail – stay tuned to her blog).
I’ve made shopping the instagram photos simple – simply click on the items listed below each photo to shop them for your own beach getaway this summer, whether that’s the pool in your backyard or somewhere warm and tropical. You can always shop all of my instagram posts here.
