10 Reasons You Should Plan an Alaskan Cruise

what to do alaskan cruise

As promised, I’m back with another post from our incredible Alaskan Cruise we did back in mid-September with Princess Cruises. I’ve planned to do a full blog post on each of the three Alaskan ports we visited during our 7-day Alaskan cruise, but before I do that, I wanted to put together a little post on why an Alaskan cruise should absolutely top your bucket list (if it doesn’t already). I mentioned this in my last post about the cruise, but while I was so incredibly excited to explore Alaska, it wasn’t something that was previously on my list of places I absolutely must go. I mostly blamed that reservation on my husband’s obsession with the various Alaskan reality shows on Discovery Channel (I’m talking multiple-day, 12 hour marathons of Alaskan Bush People, y’all), which made Alaska seem a little more outdoorsy than this city girl was up for. I think it’s very clear that I was absolutely wrong because Alaska is the most beautiful place I’ve ever been (with plenty for everyone to see and do!), but I was shocked to hear from so many of you all via comments and emails that you shared that reservation until reading my posts and seeing my photos (which makes me SO happy!!)  For those of you who are still on the fence, here is a list of top 10 reasons you should absolutely book an Alaskan cruise ASAP!

Click on the read more button below to read all 10 of my reasons, find out what there is t and see more photos of what’s waiting for you to see in do in gorgeous Alaska.

PS – if you haven’t seen my travel vlog featuring me and Cole’s adventures on board the Ruby Princess ship, watch it here!

If you follow me on instagram, you might have caught a glimpse of some of the breathtaking scenery and adventure Cole and I experienced just a few weeks ago on our Alaskan cruise with Princess Cruises. The photos hardly do the trip justice because it was truly the most breathtaking, majestic trip either of us have ever been on, but I’m going to be sharing them (and some of my first-ever travel video footage!) anyway in a series of several posts here on the blog. 😉

To start, I’m sharing a peek at the gorgeous ship that we called home through the seven day Alaskan cruise, the Ruby Princess, along with an example of a nautical-inspired cruise ship outfit idea that’s perfect for your days at sea.

Travel Colorfully – Naples, Florida Travel Guide

naples florida travel guide

After several adventure-filled months of traveling for weddings and more, it’s nice to look at my calendar and see a few back-to-back weekends where I’ll actually be home (hallelujah!) so I can finally have time to fully share those travel experiences here on the blog.  I originally had it on my editorial calendar to do my Reno-Tahoe travel guide this week, but after the devastation that Southwest Florida has been through due to Hurricane Irma, I decided to do a little switcheroo and talk about a more recent trip, first…my girl’s trip to beautiful Naples, Florida with my sister (but don’t worry, my Reno-Tahoe guide will come later this month!)

The good news is, Florida’s beautiful Paradise Coast is back open for tourism with the beaches looking as beautiful as ever (click here for the latest updates), but the devastation was severe and the rural parts of the area are still recovering. The best way you can help is by planning your visit (you will LOVE it!), but if you’d like to donate, here is a list of organizations in need.

But before you start planning, click on the read more button below to get my complete travel guide on your visit to beautiful Naples, Florida.

Travel Colorfully – The Greenbrier Resort

the greenbrier resort pictures

If you follow me on instagram, then you might remember a little girl’s trip I took with my momma to visit the gorgeous Greenbrier Resort earlier this year. From the magic of Dorothy Draper’s strikingly colorful, traditional interior style to the historical traditions rooted in Southern charm, not to mention the more-than 55 activities on the 11,000 acre property, if the The Greenbrier doesn’t already top your must-visit list, you’ll be adding it very soon! I already shared a peek at one of my fave rooms at The Greenbrier and the stunning outdoor pool here on the blog, but today I’m SO excited to finally share my full review of America’s Resort (and you’ll see why it took me so long – there are so many pictures!!).

Click through giant round- up of photos of the breath-taking resort and my recommendations of things to see, eat, and do while visiting The Greenbrier in White Sulphur Springs, West Virginia.

PS – don’t forget, you can get a FREE room upgrade when you book your stay at The Greenbrier with code VANDI.

It’s always magical being at the original park that started it all – the happy place that Walt opened himself in 1955.
