Remember when Gwen Stefani taught us all how to spell bananas in 2004?! Seriously love that song and will forever thank her for never having to spell check that word! So, apologies y’all (because that song will probably be stuck in your head all day) but I just couldn’t help myself with today’s blog post title!

The skirt I’m styling today is totally bananas (but in a very good way!) and I’m so excited to style this fun and fruitful summer outfit. Click through to get the full scoop on this outfit featuring the most darling fruit print a-line skirt.

I adore fun, tropical-inspired prints in the summertime, so when I spotted this amazing a-line skirt featuring a colorful array of fruits, tropical plants, boats, postcards, and more, I instantly fell in love! From the bananas and oranges to the vivid Caribbean-inspired buildings and sailboats, the print itself tells a story and begs to be brought along on a tropical summer escape. While I didn’t have the chance to shoot the skirt on an island adventure (we took the photos in Grapevine, Texas!), I’ll definitely be packing it in my suitcase for my next trip! Just in case you love tropical prints as much as I do, I linked up more for you to peruse below (many of which are on sale since it’s nearing the end of summer season!).

Not only is the print on the skirt super adorable, the details are too! With buttons that you can wear in the front or back and a big bow tie (which you can also wear in the front or back or even without a bow!), there are so many ways to wear the skirt. I also love that skirt is made from cotton, making it casual enough for a beach vacay but still dressy enough to wear to dinner.

To style it, I went for a more dressed up vacation look, starting with a little one shoulder red ruffled crop top, but you could easily pair a white crop top you already own or any of the vibrant colors featured in the skirt. To accessorize, I continued the beachy vibes with my go-to Cult Gaia bamboo clutch and these amazing lace up tassel sandals I scooped up from my friends at Blush and Stone boutique.

Fair-well xx,

Nice skirt and I love how you style it with a red top! You look gorgeous! How do you find sizing? Does it fit to true size? J.Crew reviews say it’s runs small.

      Hi Emily!

I’m SO sorry I’m just seeing this but in good news, the skirt is now marked down 40% off!! 🙂 J. Crew always runs large, in my opinion. I’m wearing a size 00 but I could have still worn a 0. I’m normally between a size 0 and 2. Hope that helps!!

      xx,
      -Lauren
