The warmer weather has me itching for a summer vacation.  While I don’t have a beach getaway on the books for the summer yet, a girl can certainly dream.  This photo from hotel Rosas & Xocolate (they specialize in chocolate spa treatments) in historical Merida, Mexico was especially inspiring to me.  The romantic, hot pink painted boutique hotel is nearby the Mayan Ruins and a biosphere reserve featuring flamingos & more!  I really love the contrast of the bright walls of the hotel against green palm trees and a turquoise pool.  So much, in fact, that I pulled some items evocative of the stunning photo.

Palm prints and kitschy tropical icons like pineapples, flamingos and toucans are everywhere right now and I’m definitely a fan. Kate Spade just released an assortment of Rio-inspired accessories and clothes, like this adorable clutch and Toucan phone case and I just love how they scream summer.  I’m also obsessed with these palm leaf wedges from Topshop and this palm leaf pillow by Liberty London.  Whether in a room or with an outfit, green, plant-inspired patterns always provide an unexpected, fresh touch.
