Happy Monday! After swooning over some of the looks on the red carpet at last night’s Grammy Awards, I thought it would be the perfect time to share this red velvet beauty that’will let you have your cake and eat it too 😉 (it’s just $76 y’all!) I originally purchased this long velvet dress to wear to a formal winter wedding Cole and I had earlier this month, but I loved it so much  that I decided I had to share it with you all. From the lush red color to the open back detail, this velvet stunner is pretty from every angle and is perfect for a fancy Valentine’s Day date or an upcoming formal affair. Red velvet has long been my personal favorite when it comes to cake, and thanks to this dress, it’s up there with my favorites when it comes to dress fabrics too. I’ve always loved rich velvet textures for winter, because I love the way the light will reflect a different color from every angle. I especially love the bright cherry red to dark burgundy hues that this velvet dress brings out with every movement and twirl on the dance floor. What’s even better about this dress is the peekaboo back, which you can see in the photos above.

Because velvet  is so lush on it’s own, you don’t have to add much when it comes to accessories. To style this dress, I opted for my faux fur wrap (similar here) to give it an ultra-lush look to the outfit (it also will keep you super warm!) Then I popped on some neutral beaded tassel earrings, my go-top Sam Edelman black strappy sandals and finished it off with my metal clutch by From St. Xavier.

Stay tuned for more winter outfit ideas her eon the blog!

  2. […] Make it elegant, but comfortable in a velvet maxi dress. Bonus points if you can find one in a holiday color like emerald or this red velvet maxi dress. […]
