Happy Hump Day friends!! Summertime usually calls for travel plans, and while I love to travel, I’d be lying if I said I enjoyed packing. I always get so stressed out about what I’m going to wear because I’m never 100% certain about the weather or the things we’ll end up doing (because let’s face it, as much as we try to plan our itineraries, spontaneity is the name of the game).  Between travel for my job and the 15 weddings Cole and I have had this year (that is actually not an exaggeration), we’ve had a lot of travel stacked back-to-back lately, and I’ve quickly learned lots of travel tips (all of which you can read here!). And while I do rotate through clothes a little more often than your average girl, there are always those pieces that you wear over and over, and this little off the shoulder ruffle dress is one of them.

Click on the read more button below to find out why this under $100 dress will be your BFF wherever your next destination may lead you.

I love finding bright, colorful and unique pieces, but when it comes to travel, having some wardrobe essentials that are chic but also super practical is key. On me and Cole’s last trip a few weeks ago to North Carolina for a stay at the Windsor Hotel and Asheville and one of my best college friends weddings, I found myself reaching for this dress over and over again. Of course, I only wore it once (okay, maybe twice), but it was a hint that this dress was one that was not just adorable, but it was also comfortable, versatile and practical.

For starters, the dress is casual enough to pair with flat sandals for a stroll through the park, but dressy enough to pair with some sassy strappy sandals like the fun under $70 tassel sandals I wore in today’s post. The classic cotton blue fabric is also pretty much a neutral these days, so when it comes to pairing accessories, the world (or your suitcase, rather) is your limit. I opted for my adorable new beaded clutch from my friends at The Bagtique and my lemon yellow Lisi Lerch tassels. The adorable tie on the dress is also versatile. It can easily be tied in the front, side or back for different looks. Last of all, I have to mention the pretty little detail of this dress, which you can see in some of the up-close photos. The dress features tiny green embroidery throughout – an unexpected twist to keep it fresh and fun!

For sizing references on the dress, Topshop always runs small, so I’m wearing a size US 4 and I loved the fit. Also, if you’re looking for a wear-anywhere dress that’s not off-the-shoulder, here’s a near-identical version with sleeves!
