Happy Tuesday friends!! I hope each of you found some time to celebrate or even just relax over the long weekend. My family had their annual crawfish boil Sunday, so this girl definitely took things slow yesterday with a little Netflix binging, pizza and online shopping thanks to so many of the amazing sales currently happening, and this day has been a little slow-to-start too. Speaking of sales, Nordstrom is having the absolute best sale right now, and both the striped top I’m wearing today and my favorite Prada sunnies are marked down 40% off!!

Pink has always been one of my favorite colors to wear, and I’m especially loving the bubblegum pink hue that’s showing up all over this spring and summer. I recently bought a little off-the-shoulder dress in a pink and white stripe print (similar to the one on this top) that was referred to as “pooldeck stripes” and I loved the vintage beach resort reference the name brings to mind, so I decided to call this outfit by the same name.

Although we still have just a few more weeks of spring, the day after the long Memorial Day weekend always marks the unofficial start of summer in my book. Kids are out of school, the pools are warm enough to jump in, and that summer vacation is just around the corner. To mark the unofficial start of summer, I thought this easy, breezy summer look, featuring one of my favorite trends – stripes, would be the perfect one to kick things off with.

If gingham was this year’s must-have spring print, then stripes are the must-have print for summer. Usually reserved for navy and white, nautical-inspired pieces in the summer season, this year, stripes are making waves in everything from bright color pops like the pink stripe print featured today to bold rainbow striped options, and I’m loving them all. I love the trend so much, in fact, that I rounded up more of my favorite striped pieces for summer for you to shop below.

To style today’s pink and white striped cold shoulder top, I opted for another summer go-to, white skinny jeans, to help keep the look bright and summer-y. As an average-height girl (I’m 5’6″!) with shorter-than-average legs, I always pair skinny jeans with a heel or wedge to give my legs some length, and my Marc Fisher Annie wedges have been a go-to since I bought them in January (I know they’re a splurge, but I guarantee you’ll get every penny’s worth!) One of my favorite things about summer fashion is all of the playful, colorful accessories that are available, like this ban.do bag (which doubles as a cooler!) For sizing reference son the top, I ordered a size small and I love the long, flowy fit, but I probably could have just as easily went with an extra small.

You may have noticed that my locks are looking a little longer than usual. If you’ve followed me for a while, you’ll probably know that I wear clip-in hair extensions because my ultra-fine, color treated hair needs a little boost and I’ve recently switched my extensions over to the silky touch clip-in extensions by Irressistible Me. Not only do I absolutely love the length and quality of the extensions, I also love the vast amount of hir they come with (there’s no way I could wear all of them at once!) And the price – they start at just $64 in the current sale they’re running. A side note – I ordered the color “Platinum Blonde” but used my purple shampoo to get the yellow, brassy blonde look out, so they look more ashy/white blonde as you can see in my photos.

Stay tuned for more summer outfit inspiration here on the blog!
