Happy almost-weekend friends!! Today I’m sharing a red hot look that Angie and I shot at a place that most of us are all too familiar with…the grocery store. Ever since I found out that we’re expecting (and since Cole went through what we paid last year in take-out/delivery…it was bad y’all), I’ve been making frequent trips to the grocery store so I can eat better quality food for our little growing peanut (and indulge in all my pregnancy cravings). So we figured it would be a fun place to shoot this sassy little red blazer dress (currently on sale for just $47!) and amazing red patent leather lace up booties.

Now that I’m 15 weeks and in that awkward phase of pregnancy where you don’t really have a bump but you look like you might have eaten a few too many donuts, I prefer clothes that are a little less-snug than usual, and this little red blazer dress is the perfect find. Whether you’re preggers and looking for something that ‘s both sexy and concealing or you want a date night option that allows room for dessert, this red blazer dress is your new go-to. I love that the new blazer dress trend makes menswear-inspired dressing flirty enough for date night and not just the office. And just in case red isn’t your fave color or you need it in more than just one hue, the dress also comes in color options like classic black, white and mustard. I love the fun details like the tuxedo buttons and the flared sleeves. For sizing references, I’m wearing a size 4 and love the fit.

To style this blazer dress, I wanted to keep the monochromatic, so I opted for these amazing lace up red patent lather booties (I’m obsessed y’all). They’re appropriately called the “Elphaba” booties which I love (as I wizard of Oz and Wicked fan!) With such statement-making booties and the bright red dress, I kept my jewels minimal with classic hoops and my go-to layered choker necklace by BaubleBar.

Stay tuned for more transitional outfit ideas here on the blog!

You look ab-fab in the dress, Lauren. I have a number of red dresses (to go with my 7 pairs of red eyeglasses, of course), and I would sure love to add this dress to my collection. Throw in my favorite cereal (Cheerios), along with the Cheetos (the food, not #45) and the Lay’s chips, and it would make a great shopping trip! (The pickles and ice cream combination, that’s another story. LOL)
