MAXI DRESS: Show Me Your Mumu  //  SANDALS: Jack Rogers  //  EARRINGS: Baublebar  //  CLUTCH: similar Anthropologie

It’s so hard to believe that fall is just days away, but before I dive in with fall content, I had to take a moment to share photos and my review of an amazing resort my sister and I got to experience this summer…The Henderson. If you follow me on instagram, you might remember that me and my sister Tiffany went on a little girl’s trip to stay at The Henderson in the Destin, Florida area in June. I was in the beginning of my third trimester, so I called it a babemoon, since Cole and I never officially got around to taking a babymoon before our little one arrived. It was the perfect three-day getaway at an absolutely stunning resort where you can experience luxury and relaxtion at one of the East Coast’s most popular beach destinations, Destin!

The Rooms

Not long after me and Tiffany’s short plane ride from Dallas to Fort Walton, we arrived at The Henderson, and knew we were in for a treat from the start. As you walk into the hotel, the gorgeous lobby has a luxurious but approachable feel, perfect for a family or girl’s trip to the beach! And we especially loved our rooms! We were in a standard double queen room, with an amazing view of the beach and Henderson State Park. I loved the peaceful and modern blue color scheme of the rooms. The beds were extra cozy and the bathrooms were spacious too. I loved that the bathrooms had large showers AND luxurious tubs, with windows that opened up into the room.

What To Do At The Resort

1 – Relax By The Adults-Only or Family Pool

While the Henderson does offer activities for the more active and adventurous such as bike rentals, paddle boarding, kayaking and more, this preggers was restricted to the more relaxing activities (which I certainly didn’t mind.) Tiffany and I especially loved the giant pool at the resort. The Henderson offers both an adults only pool and a family pool complete with a lazy river. We even rented some cabanas one morning at the adults only pool and enjoyed some adult beverages (although mine was a virgin adult bev.).

Another absolutely must do your visiting the Henderson is to experience the Salamander Spa. I was treated to a manicure and pedicure session at the full-service salon inside the spa during our stay, and got a full tour of the entire spa. From sun-light relaxation spaces to a salt steam room and whirlpool tub, it’s the perfect place to pamper and treat yo-self!  the henderson resort review the henderson resort review3 – Soak Up The Sun on The White Sand Beaches

One of the amazing things about Destin is their white sand, seashell-free beaches, but because Destin is such a popular destinations, the beaches are often over-crowded. Thankfully, just a short walk from the Henderson Resort is a private white sand beach, which you must have a hotel key to enter. Tiffany and I spent time on the beach each and everyday soaking up the sun and indulging in a little salt water therapy, too. Everly even loved the ocean…she was kicking up a storm as the waves hit my belly! The resort has beach chair/umbrella set ups that you can request for your convenience as well.

4 – Enjoy Breakfast In Bed (Or Balcony!)

One of my favorite things about staying in a hotel is ordering breakfast in bed, which I make a point to do at least one day on every trip I take (if available). The Henderson’s breakfast menu and coffee doe snot disappoint. I definitely recommend ordering it ahead or on the morning of one day and enjoying it with an ocean view from your balcony.

Resort Dining

I love a resort with good restaurant options so you can have a few lazy days where you don’t have to leave at all, and The Henderson is definitely one of those. Tiffany and I got to experience all of their dining options.  henderson resort review

From juicy steaks and fresh seafood at Primrose (the steak was divine!! I know I shouldn’t have but I had to indulge in a medium cut y’all!), the resort’s fine dining restaurant, to breakfast with a view at Horizon’s, the resort’s more casual dining option, you have delicious options when it comes to dining at The Henderson. You can also grab a bite to eat at the pool at Se Level Bar & Grill. Tiffany and I loved every meal we ate during our girl’s trip/babemoon at The Henderson.

While Tiffany and I absolutely loved our girls trip, I can see how the resort would also be perfect for a family outing. They even have a kid’s club with daily activities. Perhaps Everly, Cole and I will have to make a trip back to The Henderson to experience it as a family sometime soon!
