Happy Thanksgiving friends!! Today is a day of gratitude; a day where we take a moment to count each of our blessings, so I first of all want to say how very thankful I am for YOU all! Each and every day, you help inspire and encourage me, and it’s because of you that I’m able to make this dream blog job of mine happen. Whether through your emails (& I do promise to get to each of them, no matter how delayed my response may be!) or your comments on instagram, you all always find a way to make my day, and there aren’t enough words to thank you, but I’ll do it anyway…THANK YOU SO MUCH and also, ILYSM!!!

Secondly, I want to apologize for being so MIA on the blog lately. After being whisked away on another dreamy cruise with Princess Cruises last week (which I highly recommend, no matter how busy you may be during the holidays), I’m finally back in action, starting with this casual chic fall look featuring the most darling blush velvet ankle booties that I scooped up from my go-to stop for boots, Nordstrom. Click on the read more button below to get all the little details on this velvet booties outfit that’s perfect for Thanksgiving weekend.

Earlier this month, I talked about one of my fave boot trends happening this year, the statement over-the-knee boot, like the dreamy embroidered pair I styled in this post. Today, I’m teaming up with Nordstrom once more to talk about another trend I’m all heart eyes over: velvet and textured booties like this blush pair I’m wearing today by Sam Edelman. Side note – while this particular pair of ankle boots is still full price, you can score a pair of Sam Edelman block heel booties in the exact same blush velvet fabric for 52% off right now – so don’t miss out!!

You probably have more than a few pair of leather booties in your shoe collection thanks to the popularity of the boot trend over the last several seasons, so this season, why not mix it up with a pair of booties that has a little extra flavor?! Whether an unexpected color like blue or a bold pattern like floral jacquard, there’s something for everyone when it comes to booties with a little something extra, and Nordstrom has endless options to choose from.

I was so excited to find these blush velvet ankle booties at Nordstrom, complete with a little floral detail in the fabric. Blush has practically become a neutral now, but the color is still unique enough to make people take a second look (I’ve worn these blush velvet beauties a few times and I always get questions and compliments on them!!) If you’re looking for a pair of unique booties that will still go with a lot in your closet, blush is definitely the way to go. You can shop more blush booties here.

To style the booties for this post, I wanted to go for a casual chic outfit that would be perfect for Thanksgiving afternoon or Black Friday weekend shopping with the girls. I started with this amazing leopard denim skirt. Leopard print is another neutral in my book, and I’ve been a fan of the print since my 90’s elementary Limited Too days (in fact, I’m pretty certain I owned a pair of leopard jeans back then!) Besides the amazing print, I also love the length of this denim skirt. While it’s still got the flirty look of a mini skirt, it’s not too short to wear to grandma’s for Thanksgiving. What you’ll also love about the skirt is how comfortable and stretchy (but not too stretchy!) it is, and the price point ain’t so bad either. With the blush textured booties and the bold print skirt, I opted for some solid neutrals for the rest of the outfit, starting with this go-to grey layering turtleneck and this amazing green military vest (if you don’t have one yet, this one is so versatile and a great price too!) I topped it off with a cozy little pom beanie and a staple leather tote.

Wishing you all a very happy and safeThanksgiving!!

Fair-well xx,
