“Sometimes I have believed as many six impossible things before breakfast.” -Alice from Alice in Wonderland.

Alice and I certainly have one thing in common.  I’ve been an avid reader since elementary school and have always had an appreciation for Lewis Carroll’s Alice in Wonderland.  The book truly changed the landscape for children’s literature (and made for a great Disney animated adaptation too!) The story encourages thinking outside of the box and using one’s imagination.  I absolutely love this hard cover edition of the classic tale from Barnes and Noble (Anthropologie also has an adorable version).  I  thought the book was all too fitting for this dreamy, whimsical look.

From top buns to tulle, it’s not hard to see how traditional ballet costumery has influenced fashion.  I’m always attracted to the ultra-feminine trends when it comes to my personal style, so the modern day ballerina look has been something I’ve wanted to try for a while.  You can imagine my excitement when I came across this ballerina pink tulle skirt at BCBGeneration (similar here).  My off-the-shoulder BCGBGeneration black top and these classic black an gold heels (similar here) helped complete the ballerina look.  These Kendra Scott Earrings in Crystal from the Color Bar™ are one of my favorite pairs.  I’ve had them for a few years and they are the perfect statement earring to add a girly touch to any look.

A bun of some sort was a must for this look, and this one was easy to achieve.  I simply teased the top of my hair, twisted and pinned it back, and left a small strand to twist around the top of the bun for a messy, top knot look.

This look is perfect for a night out at a musical, symphony or the ballet!
