Everly’s Moana First Birthday Party
We celebrated Everly’s first birthday party this weekend, and I’m so excited to share the details and photos with y’all, I couldn’t wait a second to get them up on the blog. If you can’t tell from the featured photo above, we celebrated with a Moana first birthday party at a nearby local pool and rec center, The CORE Coppell.
If you’ve seen our gender reveal party or my Disney bachelorette party, it’s kind of obvious that I love party planning, and I might have had the most fun ever planning this one.
With tens of thousands of ideas and inspiration at our fingertips thanks to sites like Pinterest, and companies solely focused on party decor and and supplies, there are endless outlets for inspiration out there (which can make it quite overwhelming!)
Since Everly loves swimming/the water so much and is obsessed with the songs and characters from Moana, I’d chosen Moana as her birthday party theme months ago, and have been planning/thinking about it ever since (you can see the Pinterest board I created for inspiration here!)
Despite a few struggles that came along with it being the hottest day of the summer (it felt like it was 110 degrees y’all!), I absolutely love how it all turned out!!
Click on the read more button below to get the full scoop on how I put it all together, from the dollar store DIY’s to the amazing party supply companies who helped bring the vision to life.
Okay so there are a lot of photos y’all (sorry!!) but my girl Angie did such an amazing job at capturing so much of the pretty little details and the special moments, despite the insane heat, that I had a really hard time narrowing them down. I separated the images with photos of the set up and Moana party decor first and then photos of me and Everly’s outfits + Everly’s cake smash photos and photos with some of our family and friends who came.
The Moana Party Decor
I worked with a few incredible party supply companies to help bring all of my Moana first birthday visions to life. The Dallas Party was behind the gorgeous tropical balloon arch set up. The balloon arch ended up being more beautiful than I could have ever imagined and really became the centerpiece for the whole party setup. Maria and her husband, the amazing duo behind The Dallas Party, couldn’t have been more sweet! They arrived an hour early to help us set up, and I seriously don’t know what I’d have done without them. I was totally unprepared for the elements I’d face with the party being outside, but they helped me secure everything perfectly.
The two backdrops were actually ones I made at home using moving boxes and wrapping paper. I secured the coral, mint and pink tissue fans and poms I got from Minted to the pink one I made, and used some other party supplies and paper I had to create the green “One” sign. I’ll do a step-by-step DIY of how I did those and the less than $2 green and floral 1 sign here on the blog soon, but both were really inexpensive to make and ended up working great for the party!
Minted also did our amazing tropical-inspired invitations, which you can see in the photos above, our custom favor stickers., and the gorgeous colorful tropical print, which ended up serving as the basis for the party color scheme, and the pineapple print you’ll see on the tables.
Coterie was another company I worked with who provided the most darling floral plates, gold plasticware and the CUTEST Happy Birthday gold balloons, which I originally had secured to the pink backdrop board, but a couple of them popped when we walked them outside to haul then to the party, because it was actually that hot outside y’all!
Moana Party Outfits
You may or may not notice, but we decided to be super extra and do two Moana-inspired outfits for Everly’s party. Mainly because it was aswim party so I wanted her to have a swimsuit to wear for the pool and another Moana outfit for the party. Her Moana swimsuit was actually a steal we found on Amazon and her adorable Moana outfit she wore for her cake smash and to open gifts is from Pink Alligator Girls. I can’t say enough about how adorable and well-made this Moana outfit is y’all. They are handmade and every detail is just so beautiful. It was absolutely perfect for her big day!! Her Moana flower crown and Heart of Te Fiti necklace were also steals we got from Amazon.
For my outfit, I decided to do a simple Te Fiti Disneybound look, with this darling dress I found on Amazon, and lots of flowers with a Hawaiian lei and flower crown too.
Thanks so much to everyone who came out to help us celebrate Everly’s big day (& for bearing the Texas heat!!) It was such a special way for us to celebrate Everly turning one (and all three of us getting through the first year alive and well, haha!) and it meant so much to us to be able to celebrate with the friends and family we love most.
Fair-well xx,
