These pink New Balance sneakers were an answered prayer after spending hours scouring the internet for that perfect “cool girl” sneaker. I have to admit, I wasn’t the first to jump on board the denim and tennis shoes trend (the thought only conjured up 90’s soccer mom style), but when I finally found the perfect shoe, and in the perfect color to suite my style, I was hooked. After all, who knows how much longer it will be acceptable to wear sneakers for non-athletic reasons? I’m taking full advantage until that day comes.
The first key to remember when looking for the perfect fashion sneaker is that the tennis shoes you buy for running are probably not the same ones you’ll want to wear with your skinnies or cut off shorts. Is it just me or do many tennies seem to make feet look much bigger than they are? I’m an average size 8, but one of the reasons I absolutely love the New Balance 574 sneakers is that they make your feet look so small and cute! What’s more, they come in just about every color in the rainbow, from brights like these to neutrals that can be worn with anything. To style my new kicks, I started with my favorite pair of white skinny jeans to really make the color pop. Since the sneakers are so bright, I continued the all-over neutral palette with this amazing sleeveless turtleneck sweater that’s perfect for the beginning of spring (not to mention it has the cutest open back ever!) I finished the look with another winter-to-spring transitional staple, a light washed denim jacket (similar here).
This is a great look for the airport, a theme park or a casual weekend stroll.
