Fun fact: my great grandfather who we called Papa on my dad’s side of the family grew up in a traveling circus as a child (I’m serious!) His mother rode motorcycles in cages I believe his father did something with animals (I’m going to fact check that one with my Gigi later on!) I was always so fascinated by this growing up (and when I think about it today, I still am!) and perhaps it has something to do with my love for Disney parks.
As I mentioned in my previous post, my photographer Angie Garcia and I got to shoot at a little carnival in Fort Worth a couple of weeks ago and the results (in my opinion) were absolute magic! She even created a cinemagraph from the shoot, which you can see for yourself if you click the “read more” button below, and I absolutely love the way it turned out. Click through to see the magic of Angie’s cinemagraph + find out more about this outfit featuring the most gorgeous under-$100 sunshine yellow maxi dress.
Firs of all…how amazing is that cinemagraph?! I’ms o lucky to work with such a crazy talented photographer who’s always pushing her creativity and wanting to try new tings….thanks for the magic Angie! 🙂
Now about this outfit. Yellow is one of my favorite colors to wear, but I’m definitely particular about how I wear yellow. I love rich mustard hues for chunky, cozy knits in the fall and winter, while a bright, sunshine yellow is always my favorite for spring dresses. Right now the fashion world is in that in-between winter and spring mode, and this yellow maxi dress has that shiny, satin-like material that makes it appropriate for any season. What I also love about the material of this dress is how lightweight and comfortable it is to wear. The shape is also super flattering + cozy, featuring an elastic waistband and slits on the side of the dress that make it easy to walk. The dress comes with a ribbon you can tie around the waist for a more casual feel, but I opted to wear it without it for a more dressy look. What’s even better? The dress is only $99! Perfect for any upcoming weddings or formal occasions you may have + it can also be dressed down and worn on the beach!
To style the dress, I went with this stunning faux fur jacket in the prettiest cobalt blue color because I love the color combination together. The coat happens to be on major sale right now, making it just $38 (your future self will thank you!) My new gold statement earrings from BaubleBar complemented the look perfectly with the perfect pop of cobalt blue. I added a little more pizzaz with this gold glitter clutch (similar) and topped it off with my classic Sam Edelman ankle strap sandals.
This outfit is perfect for a winter wedding or special evening out.
Fair-well xx,
