Happy spring friends (or summer, I should say if you’re in Dallas…SO.HOT.!) Today I’ve got a little pep in my step because I’m teaming up with my friends at Andre Assous to talk about a shoe that’s on my must list for the season. These cognac leather espadrille wedges, deemed the Emily Cuero, by Andre Assous are not only as classic and chic as they come, but they are also so comfortable and built to last. What’s even better? In case you’re unfamiliar with Andre Assous, I’ll start by saying that he’s gained the title of the “King of Espadrilles” thanks to his debut of his iconic espadrilles in the 1970’s. His sketch-turned-mega-fashion-trend is clearly still a hit today, with espadrilles filling the windows of every shoe store as spring approaches. From sneakers to pumps, the Andre Assous collection is now comprised of all kinds of shoes that add modern styling to classics, but the espadrille, like the Emily Cuero espadrilles I’m styling today, is still at the heart of his collections.
I’ve been a fan of the espadrille for years, and it was only recently that I knew I had Andre Assous to thank. They’re not only extremely comfortable thanks to the soft material used to make the wedge, they are also super versatile, and can easily be worn with everything from shorts to dresses. When these espadrille beauties arrived in the mail, I couldn’t wait to break them out! They’re those kinds of shoes that get even more comfortable each time you slip them on, without wearing and tearing, thanks to the high-quality design.
As I previously mentioned, these espadrilles can be worn with like, anything, but to style the Andre Assous espadrilles for today’s post, I went with a look that can only be described as beach business. While the espadrilles and kaki cotton trousers give the outfit an easy, breezy relaxed look, the blazer adds polished vibes that would make it appropriate for many work places. I continued the beachy, breezy feels by adding this bold, palm print crop top that allows the tie on the trousers to show. I topped it off with one last color splash with my fuchsia all-in-one clutch by GiGi NewYork.
