Today I’m so excited to announce a partnership I’m working on with an amazing socially-conscious fashion brand based right here in Dallas. Symbology is a brand that impacts communities worldwide by employing artisans in India, Mexico and the West Bank to create beautifully handcrafted clothing, and I’m partnering up with them this holiday season to create a gorgeous, exclusive dress that I cannot wait to share with you all!
I’ll be doing a blog post featuring the dress next month, but today, I wanted to give you a little peek behind our inspiration and the design process behind Symbology’s unique and gorgeous pieces. Click through to learn more about it.
First, a little peek at the inspiration behind the dress. I met with founder of Symbology, Marissa Heyl, to talk through the design, from the color and material used in the fabric, to the silhouette of the dress and the patterns we’d use. I knew I wanted to use her amazing mini cacti print design because I love the Southwest vibes the print gives off. For the color of the dress, red is my absolute favorite hue to wear for the holidays, so it was the perfect fit.
I loved the idea of creating an illusion effect in a maxi dress with a slightly-sheer material paired with an opaque tank dress beneath, and the silhouette we chose for this one (you can see the illustration We went with a slightly sheer material overlay with the most darling little gold buttons and I absolutely love the way it turned out. For the silhouette, we continued the southwest vibes with a boho chic, long sleeve maxi. It could easily be dressed up as is for a holiday party or worn with shorts and a bralette for a cool girl look when spring time comes around.
Here is a peek at the dress being made. I absolutely love supporting an ethical brand like Symbology who changes women’s lives around the globe and I’m tickled to show you all the dress when it’s available for you to purchase next month! Stay tuned!
