Just about a month ago, I had the pleasure of being whisked away to one of my favorite places to travel in the US…beautiful Palm Beach, Florida. If you’ve been around a while, you may remember me and Cole’s first experience in Palm Beach back in spring of 2017, where we fell in love with the Southern Florida city during our stay at the Brazilian Court Hotel. This time, I went back to Palm Beach with a brand that you might know (and even if you don’t, you might have one of their products in your home!), Hunter Fan Company! Having been in the business of making fans since forever (their founder invented the first ceiling fan, afterall!), Hunter is always on the forefront of design, constantly reimagining the way we use ceiling fans to make our spaces as comfortable as ever, without sacrificing style. And that’s where we came in. I got to join some incredibly creative and talented boss babes, along with the amazing Hunter creative team, to get a first look at what’s to come for the brand AND to help them in designing new fans (so cool!), all in the beautiful and inspiring city of West Palm Beach.

Backstory on The Trip
One of the coolest things about my job is getting to meet and collaborate with such incredible brands like Hunter Fan Company, but most of all, it’s getting to work with incredible boss babes like the other publishers who went along on this trip (and also boss babes like Olivia and Meghan who are a part of the PR team who put this trip together!). In the past, I’ve had the incredible opportunity to meet and work with fashion bloggers who I’ve fan girl-ed over for years, food bloggers whose recipes have helped saved my marriage (haha…but, really!!) and mama bloggers whose stories have helped save my sanity (and a lot of tears) in the years since having Everly. This trip to Palm Beach; however, was my first time to get to work exclusively with interior design bloggers, and I’m not gonna lie, I was a little intimidated at first. Joining me on the trip with Hunter to West Palm Beach was Nichol Naranjo of nicholnaranjo.com, Kristi Bissell of The Pickled Rose, Cara Irwin of Gold a la Mode, Arianna Danielson of ariannadanielson.com, Kari Fiagle of Our Fig Tree Cottage and Sara Pavao (you can find her on instagram here!) Just click on the links to view their blogs and/or instagram pages and you’ll see what I mean. These gals are PROFESH when it comes to interior designs, y’all. A quick look through their IG feeds and you’ll feel as though you’re skimming through the pages of Elle Decor. And then there’s little ole me…having no professional experience in interior design whatsoever (and whose house regularly looks as though a tornado blasted through it). I was so honored and humbled to be in the likes of such amazing ladies and to get to know each of them. Needless to say, they were as sweet as can be, and I was so grateful to have the opportunity to get to know them, create with them and learn from them. I’m so grateful for Hunter Fan Co. for thinking me worthy of this design trip and for the incredible experience in Palm beach. And now I’m digressing, so keep on scrolling to get the scoop on our trip to West Palm Beach.
Where We Stayed
During our four-day creative adventure in West Palm Beach, we got to stay at the Hilton West Palm beach. Recently opened in 2016, the hotel features spacious rooms, a gorgeous outdoor pool as well as both indoor and outdoor dining options, located right in the heart of downtown West Palm Beach. What I especially loved was how big and roomy our rooms were. Check out my IG highlights from the trip for a full room tour video. We spent most of our time soaking up inspiration and taking in the sights in West Palm Beach, so we didn’t spend a ton of time here, but I did want to mention the hotel because it’s a beautiful and affordable property that’s a great option if you’re visiting the Palm Beaches, espeically because of its proximity to downtown West palm Beach and Palm Beach if you want to explore the island when you visit (which you 100% should!)
The Huntervention
After spending the first day/evening settling into our rooms and at a dinner to get to know everyone (stay tuned for details on where we ate!), we were taken to an Airbnb to see a special project the Hunter team had been working on. We were surprised and delighted to find that the Hunter team had renovated the Airbnb, styling new furniture and new ceiling fans from their latest collection in every room and in the outdoor space too! Keep scrolling to see each of the rooms and the ceiling fans used for each.

The Challenge
After viewing the incredible Huntervention makeover that the Hunter team had prepared for us, we were given a little creative challenge of our own. Hunter Fan Company wanted us to help design their newest fans. We drew names from a hat to get our groups and set out for a couple of days of exploration to get inspired for our fan designs, which we would be presenting to the group at the conclusion of the trip. I was partnered with Kristi and Nichol, both women with incredible interior taste (and drool-worthy IG feeds!)
Restoration Hardware
Our first stop was at none other than Restoration Hardware West Palm beach, which was conveniently located right across the street from the Hilton Hotel where we were stayed. As always, there was much to inspire as we walked through the gorgeous rooms in Restoration Hardware, but we paid especially close attention to the many lights and pendants that glimmered above the spaces. Initially, our thought was to design a fan with sparkle in mind, perhaps with a little bit of crystal, but definitely with some brass/gold.
HIVE
After perusing Restoration Hardware (and dining there at their incredible rooftop restaurant…stay tuned for details!), we headed off to a few local boutiques for more inspiration. First, we visited the beautiful HIVE boutique, a stunning, spacious interior boutique in West Palm Beach with unique home decor and furnishings, all with a coastal flair and feel. We were especially drawn to these lucite panels and a lucite bench we saw in the store, and started thinking about ways in which we might incorporate the material into our fan design.
Worth Avenue
Next, we went across the water to Palm Beach to window shop and explore the many interior design shops along the iconic shopping spot, Worth Avenue. We Really loved all of the coastal influence we saw in the stores and the rattan especially stood out to us.
Palm Beach Bike Tour and the Norton Museum of Art
The following day, we spent the morning looking for more inspiration with a Palm Beach bike tour, where we biked by some of the most iconic and gorgeous homes in all of Palm Beach. I was mesmerized by the beaut y of the architecture and the way the homes fully embraced color and culture in their designs, from Spanish rooftops to French Quarter style homes, and a particular home with a pink
door that I’d love to move into! We spent our final afternoon gaining inspiration form the Norton Museum of Art, which houses classic masterpieces and contemporary art as well.
Our Fan Design Reveal – The Hepburn Fan in Lucite/Brass
On our final afternoon together, each of the three groups presented their fans designs. After seeing all three, I officially want one of each on my home, y’all! Here is a look at the one we put together. The top photo of the lucite and brass chandelier we found at Restoration Hardware probably best sums up our inspiration. Our fan is a modern design, gorgeous enough to fit into the fanciest of kitchens. We used the Hepburn Fan as our base fan, but for our design, we would feature lucite blades that added just the right amount of gleam without being too distracting, a clear Edison bulb to make a statement and rich, golden brass metal to finish it off.
QUESTION: I’d love to know…would you like to see this fan in your home?? Answer in the comments below!!
As I mentioned, fueling our creative energy during the trip was some really incredible food. Stay tuned for my blog post on what to eat in West Palm Beach, based on the incredible places the Hunter Fan Co. Team took us during our West Palm beach adventure. Also coming soon on the blog – another room reveal in our home, featuring one of my FAVE fans by Hunter Fan Company. Click here to see all of the room reveals in our home so far.
