Happy Monday! Today I’m so excited to be partnering up with Nordstrom to bring you a fun summer-fall transitional look featuring the most darling (and comfy) little faux suede lace up mini skirt. Scroll to the bottom of this post to read the whole story!
If you live in Texas (or really anywhere in the South), fall may still officially arrive in September, but it doesn’t actually arrive until late October. Having pieces that have a fall feel but won’t leave you sweating during the first couple of months is crucial to every Southern girls wardrobe. Thankfully, Nordstrom has so many options when it comes to finding fall staples that are still lightweight enough to wear on those 98 degree September days. From miniskirts with fall textures like the faux suede one I’m styling today to peep toe booties, Nordstrom has endless pieces that you can mix up to create endless transitional outfits.
Today I put together an outfit from Nordstrom that’s perfect as a summer-fall transitional option, starting with this olive faux suede lace up miniskirt. Suede is undoubtedly a fall texture and the olive hue is huge for the season too, but this little skirt won’t leave you in sweats, not only because of the short length but because of the material too. The faux suede that the skirt is made from has this stretchy, soft feels making it super breathable and cozy. For sizing references, it fits pretty true to size since it’s stretchy. I got a size small.
To style the skirt, I wanted a top that was breathable too, and this ruffle off the shoulder bodysuit was the perfect match. While a cozy sweater would look just darling with the skirt, a bodysuit was perfect for doing the tucked-in look since the skirt does fit a bit snug. This $35 bodysuit also comes in black and I’ve already worn it several times – it’s a definite must-have in my book.
To continue the fall feel of the look, I topped it off with my new Sam Edelman peep toe booties. These booties are not just chic, they’re also so comfortable to walk in and the shade is a perfect neutral for fall. They also come in black too if you’re searching for some black booties! This Rebecca Minkoff saddle bag is the perfect fall-summer transition piece because while white is hot for summer, the tassel addition and braided straps give it a bit of a fall, boho vibe.
For accessories, I started with a fun pop of color in these neon green BaubleBar earrings and this stone cuff. I’m a big fan of the choker necklace trend right now and this $15 one has been an every-other-day staple for me lately.
Stay tuned for more summer-fall transitional outfits to get you through those not-so-cool first days of fall.
**A huge thank you to Nordstrom for sponsoring this post. All opinions are my own.

February 6, 2018 at 5:12 pmI just came across your site and I absolutely love your style! This is such a great transition outfit. The shoes are sold out, but I found a similar alternative on https://www.limelush.com/booties. Peep toe booties are so cute and really can dress up an outfit. Thanks for the great post!
