METALLIC GREEN DRESS: h:ours // FAUX FUR LEOPARD COAT: similar Chelsea 28 // EARRINGS: Mignonne Gavigan // BLACK PUMPS: Sam Edelman // HEART SUNGLASSES: BP. // CLUTCH: From St. Xavier
Since the weekend is practically here, I thought it would be the perfect time to share a holiday cocktail party outfit here on the blog. One of the things I love about holiday fashion is that no matter the trends, there are a couple of things that always seem to be appropriate: sequins and metallics. There’s something about these sparkly, lush textures and fabrics that have always reminded me of old Hollywood glamour, and I absolutely love it!

Once again, this girl is short on time so I’ll have to finish this blog post in a jiffy. While I always love all of the classic gold and silver metallic that holiday fashion offers up, I’m especially loving metallics in bright, vivid color like this stunning green metallic dress. I’ve always been aa fan of emerald green, especially for the holiday season, and the metallic makes it feel and look all the more lush and fancy for the season. The dress also comes in a stunning rust orange hue which I debated on getting. While this sassy little cocktail dress probably isn’t the one you’ll want to meet the parents in, it’s perfect for a holiday cocktail party. What I really love about it is how comfortable the material is and the fact that the straps are adjustable too. The dress even includes a little snap closure just above the chest so you can keep yo girls safe. 😉 For sizing references, I’m 5’5 and a half inches and got an extra small. I’d normally go for the small, but since the brand also offered an XXS, I figured the XS would be fine and I ended up loving the fit.
To style the dress, I knew I’d need some coverage for the cold winter nights, so I reached for my faux fur leopard coat once more. With the bold leopard print and bright green, I kept the rest of my accessories neutral, with these fun and fancy feather tassel earrings by Mignonne Gavigan, a gold metal clutch and classic black pumps.
Stay tuned for more holiday outfit ideas here on the blog.

December 17, 2017 at 10:37 amIf I were to buy that lovely green dress now, I would hope that I would still be my current size (as I seem to have been for several decades) come May or June when I could finally wear it. Three snowstorms in the past week kind of put a damper on wearing sleeveless dresses. 🙁
As for the sunglasses, that’s out because no one can make prescription lenses out of heart-shaped shades for me. At least I can still wear my lime green with white polka dot cat’s-eyes with that dress.
