Happy almost-weekend friends!! It’s been one of those crazy, hectic, mile-long to-do-list kind of mornings, so I’m going to keep this post short and sweet. As I mentioned in my previous outfit blog post, I promised myself I wasn’t only going to style dresses while bumpin’ (AKA pregnant and showing), so today I’m keeping that promise (although I’m not sure how long it will last…I literally almost passed out while shooting this earlier this week!) with a chic and sleek outfit featuring a mint blazer, white maternity skinny jeans, the sassiest studded pumps, along with the most chic and gorgeous diaper bag you ever did see, to prove that mom life doesn’t have to be so soccer mom.

No matter when your bump begins to show, there are a few things that you can go ahead and put on your must-buy list, and one of them is maternity jeans. Since my bump will be peaking during the summer months, I knew I wanted to find a solid pair of white skinny jeans that I could pop on when I wanted to wear something a little more chic than a flowy dress. I ordered this $54 pair from ASOS and fell in love the second I tried them on. One thing I’ve quickly learned with shopping for maternity jeans is that I prefer under-the-bump, rather than over-the-bump, and these skinny jeans have a soft, stretchy waist band that fits perfectly and comfortably beneath the bump. Also, the fabric of the jeans is super soft, lightweight and stretchy, which is exactly what you need for the scorching months of summer. For sizing references, I got a US 4 and love the fit.

I love finding trends that actually work with a bump, and the latest I’ve found that totally works is the blazer-shirt trend. This blazer isn’t sold as a shirt and can totally be worn open with a tee beneath, but wearing it as a shirt is just as chic and totally possible with a bump. PS – this specific blazer is also sold in white, black, blush and hot pink!

Another thing I’ve learned in pregnancy…most diaper bags are so un-cute. That’s why I was SO excited to learn about this bag by Luna by Lavoie…a luxury Italian leather brand that makes chic, functional bags for moms on-the-go. I can’t say that I’ve actually used it as a diaper bag yet, but given all the space and compartments + the waterproof, stain-proof lining, I’m pretty sure baby girl and I will LOVE using this bag.
