As I was looking through some of my old blog shoots yesterday, I noticed this little oldie-but-goodie gem featuring the most darling pink ruffle skirt outfit (similar skirt here!). I shot it in early spring, and although this particular skirt is sold out (don’t worry, I found a similar one!), I simply had to share it for two reasons: 1 – the ruffle skirt trend is one I’m LOVING this summer. 2 – my sweet labrador puppy Miss Lady is in it (she’s about three months old here!) and this fur baby mama is obsessed. Lady just turned six months old now (you can see more photos of her here!) and is quite hard to lift (but still as snuggly as ever!), but looking back at these photos gives me all the feels.

This girly girl is all about trends that walk on the ultra-feminine side, so it’s no surprise that the ruffled skirt trend is one I’m all heart eyes over this summer! In fact, if you follow me on instagram, you may have seen a couple of other ruffled skirts I styled like this yellow one and this red one. The ruffle trend has been adding feminine flair to our tops and dresses for quite a few seasons, but the tiered, ruffled skirts are new to the party and I’m loving it. From ruffle-topped skirts like the pink taffeta one I’m styling today to wrap skirts that add layers of ruffles to your look, I love the volume that the trend adds to your look as well as the versatility. You can find ruffles in everything from business-appropriate pencil and maxi skirts to date night-ready mini skirts. I love the ruffle skirt trend so much that I linked up more of my favorites for you to shop below.
SHOP MORE RUFFLE SKIRTS
As I mentioned, this particular skirt (it was by J. Crew) is no longer in stock, but I found two similar pink ruffled skirts for you to shop here and here. As I previously mentioned, I love ultra-feminine trends, so give me an piece that’s both pink AND has ruffles and I’m all in (and so is Lady!) To style this pink taffeta ruffle skirt, I started with a simple white crop top since the skirt had a lot going on. I topped the crop top off with the cutest little flamingo embellished collar, which is currently on sale for just $9. Maybe I’m new to the party, but I just discovered the magic of faux collars last winter and I’m obsessed. Especially when it comes to summer and spring clothes, I hate the bulk or awkward bumps that layering tops can create, and this solution takes those issues away!
After the flamingo collar pop and the bold pink ruffled skirt, I kept the accessories super simple, starting with my go-to faux pearl hoop earrings by BaubleBar. I finished the look off with some fringe nude sandals (similar) and dressed Miss lady in a matching flamingo tulle skirt puppy dress I scooped up for only $10!
Stay tuned for more trends to try here on the blog.
