STRIPED WIDE LEG PANTS

As I perused the internet for the perfect wide leg pants to add to my spring wardrobe, I stumbled upon this high-waisted, striped pair and was immediately sold on the bold nautical print and the stunning colors (I know, pink and blue are definitely a recurring theme for me lately). I wasn’t sure how I’d style them, however, because the wide leg pant trend is one that can be fabulous if done the right way and not-so-fab if done the wrong way.

Before buying a top to pair with it, I looked through my closet and found my go-to white crop to try. I loved that it showed just the tiniest sliver of skin thanks to the high waist fit of the pant, but since it’s not quite spring yet, I needed a little more coverage. Thankfully, I had just bought this oversized boyfriend blazer in blush pink and it happened to be the perfect pairing for the overall look. For styling, I started with my shoes. I went with heels for two reasons – one because the pants are a bit long, but more importantly because I felt that the loose, baggy fit of the pant deserved a little pick-me-up with some killer heels. These lace up sandals were the perfect cobalt blue color to tie in with the pants and the perfect height, too.

I added a few more thematic color pops with these cobalt blue reflective Ray Ban sunnies and this blush pink Kate Spade bag. I know it’s not quite spring, but it certainly feels like it here in Dallas, so I actually wore this look last weekend to happy hour with my momma.

**For sizing purposes, these run pretty true to size if not a tiny bit big. I’m wearing a size XS and they fit perfect! They are long so they will need to be worn with a heel or be hemmed.
