Earlier this week the amazing photographer I work with, Angie Garcia, and I shot at the most darling, whimsical little vintage book store ever…the Backdoor Book Shop in downtown Fort Worth. It was hard to keep myself from shopping, but I loved getting to shoot in a place that holds so many stories, both in the thousands of books and editions we were surrounded by and the people who once owned them. There’s something so magical about a book that’s been read before. From the dog-eared pages to the wear and tear of the binds, you get a feel of how long each book has been around. Being in such an amazing space reminded me of how much I used to LOVE reading books. Ever since I started blogging, I have’t had much free time for it (or, rather, I haven’t made much free time for it), but this little adventure reminded me that I need to pick up this old pastime of mine. But, I digress, let’s get back to the actual purpose of this library photoshoot which was to show you one of my favorite ways to style a sweater dress…with jeans! Click through to get the full scoop and see all of the shots we got from our vintage book store photoshoot.
PS -I would LOVE your suggestions on books I should read!? Answer in the comments below!

As you can see, Angie and I had an absolute blast getting our nose stuck in some books at the adorable Fort Worth book store 😉 (sorry y’all the Disney fan in me couldn’t help but make a Belle reference). Before I dive in on the outfit details, I wanted to chat a little more on reading and books (mostly so I can convince myself to pick up this healthy habit again!) Ever since I was a little girl, I have been completely enamored by books. From my days of reading The Boxcar Children and Babysitters Club to Harry Potter and the Twilight series, if there was buzz about a book or book series, I simply had to see what it was all about. I love that books have the ability to transport you to another world…one that’s co-created by both the author and your imagination (which is something Netflix simply can’t do). I remember getting lost for hours upon hours in a book just because I simply couldn’t put it down, and I loved that feeling! And I feel like it’s a hole that’s missing in my life.
Since I started my own business, I don’t really recognize my free time or spare time since one of my hobbies has become my job (which is totally amazing and I’m very appreciative of!), but the lines between work and play are all kinds of blurred. All that beng said, I’ve decided to introduce this love of mine back into my life, but after being out of the reading loop for so long, I need your help!!

And now that I’ve gone in a completely opposite direction with this post and my inbox is staring me down, I’ll keep the outfit deets brief. This amazing rust colored sweater is actually a sweater dress, but I wanted to show how easily it is to switch up your sweater dress routine and pop it on with skinny jeans like this pair of ankle jeans. Just add a belt and some boots or booties like this amazing plaid pair I found and voila! You’ve got a chic and comfy new way to wear your sweater dress. To shop this outfit, just click on the links at the top or bottom of this post. Happy weekend friends!!
Fair-well xx,

January 30, 2018 at 9:41 amBooks are my joy! I will go to coffee shops just to read my books, Try checking Phillipa Gregory’s books. My favorite of hers is the Other Boleyn Girl and the Queen’s Fool. Majority of her historical fiction books revolve around the Tudor or Elizabethan England.

February 3, 2018 at 10:34 amThrough college, whether it was during the school year or summertime, I visited the library almost on a weekly basis, taking out five books at a time, putting my brown, clear-bottom cat’s-eye glasses to good use. 🙂 Of course, back then there was no internet, and there were only 6 TV channels — 3 network and 3 UHF, so those books came in handy.
