Happy Sunday friends!! I don’t usually post on the weekends, but since baby girl has been staying at my parents the last couple of nights and I kind of don’t know what to do with myself AND it happens to be Oscars night, I decided to switch things up a bit. If you follow me on instagram, you’ve probably seen shots featuring this amazing polka dot tulle maxi dress a couple of times. It was sooo busy during the holidays that I didn’t have a chance to get a full blog post up featuring these photos, and since Angie (my amazing photographer friend!) and I went all the way out to Enchant Christmas in Arlington and she captured some of my favorite shots ever, I decided it would be the perfect excuse to finally showcase the photos. Since the beginning of last year, Angie and I have sought to be more creative in our photo shoots, from the settings and outfits to the look and feel of them. We’re constantly texting each other inspiration and bouncing ideas off of one another. I feel SO lucky to get to work with another creative like Angie who is as interested in trying new things, getting messy and sometimes embarrassing ourselves just a bit (Angie laid down on the extremely cold, uncomfortable floor to get some of these shots, y’all!) So all that’s to say, our quest of finding interesting new setting to shoot at led us to discovering Enchant Christmas…a magical display of millions of stunning Christmas lights, located inside the ballpark at Arlington. It will definitely be an event I attend every holiday season from now on. I can’t wait to be able to take Everly and Cole along next Christmas!! It was so gorgeous and there was so much to see! It also was the perfect setting for shooting this amazing polka dot tulle maxi dress. I actually wore this dress for the first time just three days before Everly was born (seen here), at my cousin Chanie’s rehearsal dinner. One of the things I love about this dress is the empire waist, that makes it so comfortable and easy to wear, even if you’re 8 months pregnant. It also has adjustable straps, making it super easy to fit a variety of body types!! I love that dress utilizes tulle, creating a sheer effect over the nude skirt, and has the most playful, unexpected polka dots. It’s definitely a staple I’ll keep in my closet for years to come.
