Apologies upfront for getting that Prince song stuck in your head all day (it’s been playing over and over in mine this morning as I write this), but I simply can’t resist a punny blog title every now and then. 😉 The two piece set trend is back in a major way this spring and I’m certainly LOVING it ( I already styled the trend once here on instagram!) While it was first introduced a few years back in short/skirt + top duos, the new take on the 2018 version calls for a pant (although skirts and shorts are equally as adorable and trendy!) Before my bumpie got too big and made things awkward (this outfit was shot a month ago when I was just 16 weeks), I thought I’d style an adorable and affordable matching set pant outfit featuring the cutest little red corset.

Whether in classic spring prints like floral and gingham or in this year’s polka dot comeback (which I talked about earlier this week on the blog), the matching separates trend is available in every print and color you could ever dream of. Some, like this set, even come with multiple options, like a pant, skirt, crop top and blazer so you can wear them a multitude of ways. I love the trend so much that I linked up more of my favorite matching set pants options for you to shop below in a variety of prints, color and price points.

Trending items can often be pricey, so the first thing I loved about the red striped corset and pant matching set that I’m styling today were the prices. Both pieces are under $100, with the lace up corset top being just $65 and the high waisted pants coming in at just $69. What I also love about the matching sets trend in general is that it offers up multiple ways to wear the items. While they look amazing and trendy together, you can also pop on the top with a white maxi skirt for a casual beach look while you can pair a button down and blazer with the pants for an office chic look.
To style the look for today’s post, I went with a spring-meets summer feel, starting with some lace up raffia sandals, my new go-to beaded disc earrings by Lisi Lerch, and my fave from last year that’s back again, my classic Cult Gaia Noah’s Ark clutch. Stay tuned for more spring and summer 2018 outfit ideas here on the blog!
