Happy almost-weekend friends! Today I’m so excited to share the most darling (and super affordable!) outfit that I wore a couple of weeks ago for the eve of me and Cole’s NYE anniversary. Cole’s parents had the fun idea of getting our families together to have dinner at the amazing spot where they hosted our rehearsal dinner, Dakota’s in downtown Dallas (I highly recommend for a special date night!) This $67 little white ruffled peplum shift dress and the cutest bow-topped plaid coat I ever did see (only $72!), both from Chicwish, were the perfect duo for the celebratory evening.

First of all, a few words about why I absolutely love Chicwish, the online clothing boutique where I found this ruffled white peplum dress and tartan bow-topped coat. Chicwish offers up hundreds of fashion-forward pieces that you won’t find anywhere else for incredible prices. It’s rare that you’ll find anything over $100! From dresses in the most feminine silhouettes to tops in unique shapes and every color/pattern you can imagine, be warned – when you start shopping this site you’ll be perusing for quite a while. There are SO many amazing finds! Click here to start shopping!
Now back to this outfit. There are so many reasons I absolutely love this coat and dress combo. First of all, the coat is unlike any I’ve ever seen, from the detail of the oversized bow to the unique silhouette that makes it perfect for pairing over cocktail dresses. I also love the vintage vibes it gives off, and the $72 price tag is simply unbeatable. The dress is gorgeous enough on its own. In fact, when I took off my coat for our wedding rehearsal anniversary dinner, even Cole commented on how he loved the dress (sweet as Cole is, it is a rare day when he notices or comments on something I’m wearing!) The unique, feminine silhouette created by the flirty little ruffles makes it a classic that I’ll keep in my closet for years to come.
To style the outfit, I went for a little bold pattern play by pairing my go-to pair of leopard pointed toe pumps (similar here) and added a pop of luxe texture and color with my favorite bag of the season, this blue velvet crossbody by Rebecca Minkoff. I topped it off with some gorgeous tassel sparklers from BaubleBar and I was ready for a winter’s night out in Dallas.
