It’s a well-known fact that scents can bring back the sharpest of memories, and blame it on my new mama hormones, but lately, I’ve been feeling especially nostalgic about smells from the past. One of the scents that’s been a mainstay throughout my childhood and into adulthood is the crisp, classic smell of Carmex Lip Balm. Just seeing the classic yellow jar brings back memories from my childhood…when my mom would lather it on me before elementary school (I was ALWAYS the kid with chapped lips) and on family ski trips when my dad used to keep it in his pocket to re-apply between runs on the ski lift. Tried and true, it’s simply the BEST stuff, whether you need to soothe chapped lips or simply want to revive your lips in general. With a nearly six month old baby girl who’s as kissable as can be, keeping my lips hydrated is more important than ever, and today I’m sharing how Carmex Lip Balm has revived my morning routine! As a blogger (and a gal in her late 20’s in general), I’ve tried dozens of products that promise to hydrate chapped lips, but to this day, Carmex is the only one that truly leaves my lips feeling instantly revived and rehydrated. And when the dry winter weather leaves my lips feeling extra dehydrated, it’s Carmex to the rescue! As a new mama, my mornings start earlier and the time I have to focus on personal beauty and skincare is limited, so efficiency is key. That’s why Carmex has become such an integral part of my morning routine! It’s dependable, easy to use, and best of all, it works, instantly reviving my dry lips and helping me start my day. As always, the product seems to soak into my dry lips, making them look and feel so much better (and I literally just stopped typing so I could put some on my lips now!) Not only do I love that it works so well, but I also love the classic, nostalgic smell. It’s a classic beauty staple that I can’t wait to pass onto Everly when she gets a little older (although she’s probably already quite used to the smell since I shower her with kisses daily!)

Like I previously mentioned, when I was a little girl, I always seemed to have dry, chapped lips. Forget nail biting and hair twirling…my nervous habit was definitely licking and/or biting my lips. They would get so bad, I remember sometimes they would even crack and bleed (ouch!) My earliest memories of my mom helping me lather Carmex Lip Balm onto my lips are from when I was in pre-school. Instantly, my tiny cracked lips felt soothed and hydrated and within days, they were back to normal! Today, I no longer have those extreme cases of chapped lips (thank heavens that habit didn’t stick around!), but when my lips are needing a little love, I still incorporate Carmex into my morning routine for a revived, refreshed feeling.
