If you’ve followed my blog and instagram for a while, you might remember me mentioning (AKA whining non-stop…sorry y’all!) that Cole and I purchased + renovated a new home during my third trimester of pregnancy and officially made the move just about a month after Everly was born (something I do not recommend anyone do, ever). Now that we’re finally settled in, I’m going to be sharing each of the room transformations here on the blog, starting with my favorite room in the house…Everly’s nursery.
Since Everly’s nursery was something I’d been dreaming up in my head for months, gathering pieces bit by bit as I tried to envision what the final space would look like without having any actually visual representation, it was obviously the room I was most excited to work on when we moved into our new home. I absolutely LOVE how it turned out!! I shared a little sneak peek a few months ago, but I am so excited to FINALLY reveal Everly’s Peter Pan -inspired nursery, a combination of classic, feminine inspiration with adventure, whimsy and a little bit of pixie dust, too. Click through to see our baby girl’s nursery and all the little details (PS – scroll to the bottom of this post to see a before photo of the room!!)

If you can remember from my post on our gender reveal, I was 90% positive Everly was a boy when we first found out we were expecting (side note – I was absolutely ECSTATIC to have been proven wrong, and would have been either way!) Before I was even pregnant (and probably before COLE and I were even married!) I’d always wanted to do a nautical/Peter Pan theme for our little boy’s nursery. But when we found it we’d be having a girl, I was at a loss for what her nursery theme would be. After lots of Pinterest searching, I convinced myself the theme could still totally work for a more feminine room, and I took the inspiration in a new direction. Drawing inspiration from the Darling children’s nursery from the classic Disney movie, some of the movie’s most iconic moments and characters, as well as some elements from the original book, I story-boarded the whole room in my head and then again on Pinterest, from the crib bedding and area rug, to the wall decor and tiny shelving details. It was one of those rooms that came together even more magical than I’d dreamt!

One of the first ideas I had for the room was to use handmade gold wings above her crib. It was an idea I’d seen years before at a Restoration Hardware store in Chicago, and I instantly loved the playful yet elegant touch it added above a crib. Luckily, I found the wings for Everly’s room for a fraction of the price I’d seen them for (under $200 at Amazon!!). To continue the theme of flight, I loved this sign I found on Etsy featuring one of my favorite quotes,”what if I fall? oh but my darling, what if you fly?” from the poem by Erin Hanson. I thought both the gold wings and the inspirational quote would tie in seamlessly with the Peter Pan theme. Rather than the navy blue-tones and nautical theme I had in mind for a potential baby boy’s Peter Pan nursery, I decided to base the colors in Everly’s room around the palette of rosey pink, gold and minty blue. I also knew I wanted to do a wallpaper accent wall in her nursery behind the crib. Once again, I turned to Pinterest for inspiration and absolutely adored this wallpaper I saw in several nurseries. It had the perfect pink, mint and gold tones I was looking for, and I loved that the floral pattern added an organic element to her room while the butterflies and insects played right into the flying theme.

My original idea was to find a crystal ship chandelier for the nursery, but when I discovered I couldn’t find one for less than $1,000, I decided to go another route. Luckily, I did find a way to add a ship to the ceiling with a much more affordable under $50 kite from Haptic Lab, and opted for this gold botanical chandelier I found for a steal on Amazon. I knew I wanted to add a teepee to a little corner of her room as a nod to The Lost Boys in Peter Pan and I love this one I found for a steal on Amazon. A quick side note – I actually ended up adding all of the Amazon products you see featured in the nursery to my Amazon baby registry which was so amazing and convenient!! To continue the Peter Pan elements in the room, I added another nod to the Mermaid Lagoon in the book/movie with this little starfish pouf that fit perfectly beneath the teepee and this sweet mermaid doll from Cuddle + Kind. In her glider area where I knew we’d spent lots of time reading stories, I really went all in with the Peter Pan theme, starting with this amazing Big Ben clock I found from Amazon, this Neverland canvas art set I also added to my registry from Amazon, and this Big Ben print from Minted. I was super excited to find this ship sail wall art from Pottery Barn Kids! I also added some actual Disney Peter Pan merchandise to the room, like this toy set I found, an adorable little Tinkerbell figurine and some Disney lithographs I’d collected over time. Naturally, the Disney elements in Everly’s room didn’t stop at Peter Pan. I couldn’t help but to add some pieces from some of my other favorite Disney classics, like Cinderella and Beauty and the Beast (can you spot them?!)

Since I knew I’d have a lot going on with the floral wall paper and all of the different Peter Pan-themed accessories I wanted to fit in her small room, I kept all of the furniture or larger pieces in her room a neutral, off-white color, from the crib and dresser to the teepee and glider. I also wanted to keep her bedding a solid color, and I loved the classic, feminine look and the rose pink color of this bedding set I found. To continue the pink colors in the room, I opted for this gorgeous rose pink rug I found from Caitlin Wilson design and some solid pink curtains. For the paint on the walls, my original thought was to do pink, but once I laid out the items I had for her room (I’m a very visual person, y’all!), I realized that a light minty color would work much better, and I’m so glad I did. The color I went with was “Windowpane” by Sherman Williams. It looks really light on the sample, but it’s perfect when it’s in a room, adding just the right amount of color without being overwhelming.

And that’s a wrap, y’all! I realize I packed a whole lot of stuff into a pretty small nursery space, but I did link most all of the items you see at the top of this post. If there’s something I missed just leave a comment at the bottom of this post, and I can find a link for ya or let you know where I found it!!

Stay tuned for more room reveals from our new home here on the blog!

This is so dreamy! I love your style. What a relaxing color palette. I don’t know how you do it, but it’s quite amazing to see the empty “before” shot in contrast to what you turned it into!
