With our third baby officially here, I’ve learned a lot about baby essentials you actually need. Whether you’re a new mom or you’re shopping for a baby shower, I’m sharing a full baby registry checklist to get you through the first year.

Back when I was a new mom with our firstborn, Everly, I shared a list of my must-have newborn baby essentials. Now that I’m going through the newborn phase with our third baby, I’ve learned more about baby essentials you’ll definitely need to get you through the first year.

If it’s your first baby, the list might seem long, which is why a baby registry is definitely necessary. But if it’s your second or third, you’ll be surprised at how much you already have.

From must have baby gear to nursery staples, I’m sharing a fully categorized list of the newborn baby essentials I actually used with all three of my babies.

Walmart is one of my go-to’s when it comes to finding amazing low prices for baby essentials. What’s even better? Walmart is currently having their Baby Days Sale, featuring some of the best sales on top baby items!

One of the best items to find amazing deals on in Walmart’s Baby Days Sale is car seats. They have major discounts on tons of top-rated carseats.

We just got Maxon the Safety 1st Grow and Go Sprint All-In-One Convertible carseat from the sale and I absolutely love it. It grows with your child from their newborn days through up to 100 pounds and it’s currently $30 off in the sale. Maxon has seriously never been happier in the car. He looks so comfortable in his new “big boy” carseat and is actually excited to get in the car for once.

My Baby Essentials – A Registry Checklist For The First Year

Here is my full checklist for all the baby essentials you’ll need for the first year. Once again, it will seem long, but remember you don’t actually need all of these baby essentials immediately. For example, you won’t actually use your high chair until baby is about six months.

So if you want to wait on some items, just purchase or request the things you know you’ll need right away first. I added two stars (**) next to the items on the list that you likely won’t need for the first 3 months, if not longer.

And if you do plan on having more than one baby, I promise you will use almost all of these items over again. With both Maxon and Miles, I found it hard to even think of anything I needed when people asked, with the exception of boy clothes for Maxon.
