If you follow me on instagram or Snapchat, you’re probably familiar with my sweet yellow lab Lucky, but what you might not know is that my firstborn furbaby who stole my heart is a black cat named Mowgli (click through to see the whole post for a peek at my chubby black kitty muffin!). Don’t worry y’all – Mowgli is still very much in my life! But when moving with Mowgs from Austin to Dallas, my allergies suddenly went nuts around my sweet kitty (I’m talking uncontrollable sneezing, can’t-breathe, red, itchy watery eyes – the whole shabang!) so he now enjoys a spoiled suburban life with my mom and dad who spoil him uncontrollably. Frankly, I don’t think my momma would let me have him back if I begged, but I will always consider myself a black cat lady thanks to my firstborn feline furbaby.
Which brings me to this outfit. Today I’m partnering up with Nordstrom to bring you a festive, Halloween-inspired outfit that’s got major cat-itude. Click through to get the skinny on this outfit + see photos of the chubbiest black cat you’ll ever see – my sweet baby Mowgli.
You know this girl loves cute, punny items – so when I spotted this black cat lady tank (currently marked down to just $14!) and this adorable cat face baseball cap, I couldn’t wait to put together a fun cat lady-inspired look for the blog.
It’s not very often that you’ll find me in a black-on-black ensemble, but I figured this tank made it appropriate. I love the black denim trend that’s happening right now and this distressed boyfriend pair by One Teaspoon is my new obsession. One Teaspoon is my fave denim brand for distressed boyfriend jeans, not just because of the perfect fit and the unique detail in every pair, but also because of the amazing price point. This pair is just $138 – not bad for high-quality denim.
Not up, I needed a jacket to pair with the tank since it’s a little too chilly to wear alone (or at least, I pretend it is – it’s been in the nineties lately in Dallas – womp, womp). This amazing denim jacket with knitted sleeves is currently on sale making it just $41! I love the unique sleeve details and the moto fit + hoodie addition. I’m wearing a size small and I love the fit!
For accessories, I couldn’t think of a more perfect shoe for this look than these amazing cheetah ankle boots by Sole Society. I’ve said it before, but animal prints are a neutral in my book, so I like to have several accessories in the print. Since the booties and hat are a bit on the wild side, I kept the rest of my accessories neutral with a gold collar necklace (similar) and a grey crossbody bag (similar).
I’m not sure if Cole and I will be partaking in Halloween festivities because we’ll be in Chicago for a wedding during the holiday, but I’ll definitely have this tank and hat with me so I can add a little Halloween-inspired flare to my outfit.
This post is dedicated to my firstborn furbaby, Mowgli. This black cat fluffball will forever have a place in my heart.
**Thanks so much to Nordstrom for sponsoring this post. All opinions are my own.
