I cannot believe we’re already more than half way through August y’all/ It’s true what they say – time really flies when you’re a mama. I’m back with another blog post I fully intended on posting prior to baby girl’s arrival, but since our little early bird had other plans, I fell a bit behind on my schedule. But I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to tell all my mama’s-to-be and future mama’s-to-be about a device that became my absolute favorite during the third trimester…the Bloomlife contraction monitor. Here’s the thing about those Braxton-Hicks contractions they tell you about…if it’s your first pregnancy, it’s really hard to tell when you’re feeling them. That’s where the Bloomlife contraction counter device comes in. This wearable smart pregnancy device simply attaches to your belly and connects via an app on your phone to start tracking your contractions so you can see patterns and help prepare for the big day.
Click on the read more button below to get my full review of how this smart pregnancy device helped put my mind at ease and prep for the big D-day in my third trimester.

As a first time mama, I checked my pregnancy apps daily to read the latest articles and facts relevant to where I was at in my pregnancy, and I especially loved reading my weekly updates. So when I entered the third trimester, my apps all started mentioning Braxton Hicks contractions since that’s about the time you’ll start to feel them. But as the weeks passed, I never felt anything I could identify as a contraction, which made me nervous, assuming I might not be able to tell when the big day arrived (not that I needed to anyway due to how Everly decided to come into the world, but I’ll save that story for later on the blog!) Enter Bloomlife. My rental device came in when I was about 34 weeks pregnant and I immediately started using it multiple times a week. The very first time I put it on…voila! I could see live on the connected Bloomlife app on my phone when I was having a contraction and how long it was so I could start identifying how they felt. Not only did it help put me at ease, but it was also so interesting to watch the graph go up and down as I had a contraction.
So…how exactly does it work?! As you can see from the photos above, the Bloomlife smart contraction device is super easy to put on and use. You’ll receive your rental in the mail, which comes with the actual base device along with several patches that the device snaps into. Once you receive it, you simply download the Bloomlife app to your smart device and connect it via Bluetooth. Then you’re ready for your first session. It’s recommended that you spend one hour on every session so the app has ample amount of time to track your contractions and start formulating patterns. You can use it daily or a few times a week like I did, you just have to find a cozy spot to relax and put your feet up (a GREAT excuse to get off your feet for an hour in those final weeks), and you can watch your contractions live from your app. What’s so cool about the device is that as your due date approaches, you can visibly see (and start to know what to feel!) your contractions become more and more frequent, so you can be more prepared when the big day arrives. My contractions were definitely getting more frequent and closer together in the days before Evie arrived, although I did keep telling myself she’d be late like her mama. Now thanks to Bloomlife I’ll know what to expect and feel even more prepared as the big day approaches.
