Disney World Outfit idea: Storybook Circus at Magic Kingdom

Planning a Disney vacation soon and looking for ideas on what to wear to Disney World?  I’m sharing a Disney World Magic Kingdom outfit that’s perfect for Storybook Circus land. That’s the circus-themed area in Fantasyland where you’ll find the classic Dumbo ride.

And while you’re at it, here’s some Magic Kingdom captions to save for your Disney vacation too.

Disney World Magic Kingdom Outfit Idea – Storybook Circus

As promised, I’m back with another Disney outfit from my latest trip to Walt Disney World. This look is inspired by one of my favorite Disney classic movies and a beloved classic ride at the Disney Parks too, Dumbo.

I’ve always LOVED the message behind Dumbo – the idea that you can turn something you once thought of as negative into a positive, or that some of our most difficult challenges in life can be the things that lift us up and shape us into who we are in the future.

The message in this simple but beautiful animated film runs deep and is so applicable to both children and especially adults. I was so excited to plan a Disney outfit that paid homage to the movie and ride!

First let’s talk about the elephant in the room...this AMAZING Circus swing full skirt. 😉 This might be my favorite skirt of all time, y’all. I just LOVE the red curtain detail. The skirt actually comes with two lightweight layers.  You physically tie the “curtains” on the side so you can see the greatest show. How FUN is that?! The bright primary color sin the skirt and the circus theme immediately made me think of Storybook Circus in Fantasyland at Disney World.

…And as you can see from the photos, it blended in perfectly! As you can tell from my previous Disney parks outfit post, I’m really loving the idea of wearing full skirts to the parks – they’re long enough that you don’t have to worry about showing too much skin on rides but also SO fun, twirl-worthy and actually quite comfortable. I don’t recommend wearing one to Walt Disney World at any time during the summer, however. It’s just a little too hot!

Now I know what you’re thinking…”what’s with the Mary Poppins tee?” While Mary Poppins and Dumbo don’t have a ton in common, they do both feature carnival/circus scenes, and I honestly liked the way they looked paired together so much on the Unique Vintage site, I decided to style them the same way. Besides, it’s impossible not to have a practically perfect day in Fantasyland. Not pictured here was this Danielle Nicole Dumbo bag I’d fully intended to style with this look, but didn’t get it on time. How perfect would it have been??
