Looking for some farmhouse master bedroom ideas? I’m sharing our modern farmhouse bedroom reveal, featuring white bedding, a neutral bedroom color palette and a little touch of modern glam.
From our kitchen renovation to our small back patio, we have completely transformed our little house over the last couple of years.
Since I knew this house wouldn’t be our forever home, I played it safe when it came to choosing paint colors, hardware and even our decorating style.
The farmhouse decor trend is pretty universally loved in Texas and the South. So I knew it would be a great place to start when it came to decorating our home.
To start, I opted for a French country meets farmhouse living room. And today, I’m so excited to finally reveal our modern farmhouse bedroom, along with some farmhouse master bedroom ideas to help inspire you.
Our Modern Farmhouse Bedroom Decor
Black and Cream Area Rug | Black and White Side Tables | Black and White Floral Framed Prints | Gold Moroccan Pouf | Pineapple Lamps | White Wall Mirrors
When it came to our bedroom color palette, I wanted to keep it neutral. But I still wanted something a little bold, so I opted to mix in some contrast with black and white decor pieces.
I started with these two side tables from MacKenzie-Childs. Then, I added two black and white framed floral prints from Minted. They are actually two of the same print – I just turned one upside down.
Next, I needed an area rug to bring the room together. This black and cream area rug with a floral print from the Cynthia Rowley Ruggable collection was absolutely perfect for the space.
Ruggable is the company that makes beautiful rugs that are completely machine washable. If you have little ones, dogs or just tend to be on the messier side (like myself), I absolutely recommend Ruggable for ALL of your interior rugs. They’re a total game-changer, y’all!
If you’re looking for modern farmhouse master bedroom ideas, remember to keep the color palette cozy and neutral. Then, mix in some metallics like gold or silver for a more modern, elevated look.
Our Farmhouse Master Bedroom Paint and Hardware Details
Gold and White Ceiling Fan | Sherwin Williams “Repose Gray” Bedroom Wall Paint | Bronze Industrial Curtain Rods | Taupe Curtains
Featuring white bedding with neutrals like cream, black and gray, we kept our farmhouse bedroom color palette clean and simple. Starting with the paint.
Knowing we’ll either rent or sell this home within the next few years, I opted for a universally pleasing gray paint. We chose Sherwin Williams “Repose Gray” for our master bedroom paint color, living room and for most of the interior of our home.
I loved the modern feel that the pops of gold from the Minted framed art prints and the Mackenzie-Childs side tables added to our farmhouse bedroom decor. So, I was super excited to install this beautiful white and gold fan by Hunter Fans.
This modern, chic fan has quickly become one of my favorite parts of our master bedroom. I never knew what a difference a beautiful fan like the Hepburn Fan from Hunter Fans could make in a space.
The fan has definitely become a statement piece in our room. I love the way the modern gold fan and bronze industrial curtain rods added a little bit of modern edge to our farmhouse bedroom.
If you’re looking for farmhouse master bedroom ideas, be sure to remember your fan and hardware can make a huge difference in the overall feel and look of your room.
Our White Master Bedroom Bedding
White Duvet Cover | White Sheet Set | Blush Pink Throw Pillows | White and Pink Euro Shams | Farmhouse Cream and White Throw Blanket | Gray Upholstered Headboard
I knew we’d want to keep the neutral, clean white bedding we had in our old house, but we decided to upgrade to a duvet cover and sheet set from Boll and Branch.
And it was the best decision ever! They’re the most comfortable, breathable sheets we’ve ever slept on and I absolutely love the quality of them.
I opted for a white Boll and Branch sheet set that had light taupe bands to tie into the warm neutral color palette of our farmhouse master bedroom.
For the duvet, I went with the classic white duvet cover, which was a great choice. With a toddler and two labradors, we’ve had to bleach it more than a few times, and it always comes out sparkling clean!
I wanted to add a subtle pop of color to our modern farmhouse bedroom. I was hesitant to add in a soft blush pink, but I kept gravitating towards it. I’m so glad I did. This set of soft pink throw pillows and Euro pillows with light pink piping from Serena and Lily was the perfect touch of color.
I finished our white farmhouse bedding with a fringe cream throw to add a cozy feel to the room.
When it comes to bedding ideas for your farmhouse bedroom, keep it understated, cozy and simple.
Our Master Bedroom Layout
For how small our home is, our master bedroom is actually quite big. I was relieved to find that we could fit an office space in our bedroom, since our three bedroom house layout wouldn’t allow a full room for it.
Because our bedroom also doubles as my home office. I spend a lot of time in here. Which is why we also carved out a space for Everly to play.
This room is where we spend 80% of our time during the day, so the fact that it can function as a bedroom, office and playroom is absolutely essential!
Incredibly, the room is big enough to include our bedroom furniture, my office desk, a play space for our little ones, and there’s even space for a vanity area.
Our Bedroom Before the Modern Farmhouse Makeover
Like always, I had to show you a peek at what our master bedroom looked like before we renovated and decorate dour home. Once again, pretty scary, right?
It’s amazing what new flooring and paint alone can do to transform a room! Plus, we got a major upgrade with our new Hunter fan.
That’s all for now! Hopefully you found some farmhouse master bedroom ideas that you can incorporate into one of your bedrooms.

August 25, 2020 at 8:54 amGreat article! I love the farmhouse style, but I recently bought a home in a new Paradise Developments home, and as the majority of new builds, the house has a very modern design. I like how you combined modern and farmhouse styles in your bedroom renovation design. I’m definitely going to use some of your ideas, thanks for sharing!
