On the hunt for unique boy’s nursery theme ideas? I’m sharing our baby boy’s wild, tropical jungle nursery. From the palm leaf wallpaper to the lush green colors, here are the details from our jungle theme nursery.
Maxon’s Jungle Book-Inspired Nursery
If you’ve seen Everly’s Peter Pan nursery, you’ll know I love working Disney themes into our kid’s rooms. My idea for a jungle nursery inspired by the Jungle Book actually started before Cole and I were even engaged.
At the time, the Disney store had some Jungle Book nursery stuff on major clearance, so I decided to stock up on a few items. A couple years later, I collaborated with Grandin Road to give our living room a tropical makeover with their for their Iris Apfel collection.
When we unboxed the rattan elephant table, I knew it would be perfect as a changing table in a future jungle nursery. And the zebra throw pillow plus monkey lamp would be too cute for words!
When we found out Everly was a girl, I decided to put my tropical Jungle nursery idea on hold for a boy. I’m so glad I did, because I couldn’t imagine our baby boy’s nursery any other way.

Jungle Nursery Decor
My love for color is especially reflected in my children’s rooms, and Maxon’s tropical nursery is another example of that.
Maxon’s jungle nursery mixes lush green hues with warm neutrals like cream and natural wood and wicker, along with pops of mustard yellow and bold black and white stripes.
I absolutely love the rich, natural colors and textures of his little “man cub cave”. He already loves looking at the details in the pattern of his wallpaper and lounging on his extra comfy shag area rug.

Tropical Palm Print Wallpaper
With the tropical pieces I already had from Grandin Road and Everly’s classic white crib, I already had the foundation pieces for the jungle nursery. But I wanted something to really pull it all together and give it that lush, jungle feeling.
A tropical palm leaf wallpaper immediately came to mind. But since Maxon’s room is extra small, I was super nervous about doing a wallpaper accent wall, especially in such a loud print.
Luckily, I found this incredible palm print wallpaper by Milton King and I went with my gut. I’m SO glad I did!! The wallpaper absolutely makes the room.
The wallpaper is called”Kingdom Palm” by Milton and King and we chose the “Day” colorway. If you’r elooking for trendy, unique wallpaper that’s high quality but still affordable, Milton and King is amazing.
They have so many incredible designs and what’s even better, they make it super easy to hang the wallpaper. What I thought would be a day-long project ended up taking just two hours for my mom and I to do.
Another one of my favorite parts of Maxon’s room is his giant wood name sign above his crib. This custom design is by The Polymath Mom, and if you want a well-made name sign for your kid’s room, look no further.
I was once again apprehensive about putting a large sign over the bold pattern, but I adore the way it turned out. The natural hues of the wood bring out the colors of the coconuts in the tropical wallpaper.
Jungle Nursery Colors
Besides the lush green hues and neutrals, I wanted to add more color to the room. Mustard yellow seemed like the perfect hue to accent the green. I found this yellow canopy on Amazon and it was great way to bring the color into the nursery.
I’m all about mixing patterns, but I really wasn’t so sure about how bold black and white stripe curtains would look with the tropical wallpaper.
Luckily, I already had the black and white curtains from our master bedroom in our old house. I gave them a try and I loved how they looked together.
The green chest and palm leaf art print set were also from the Grandin Road x Iris Apfel collection. Both pieces fit into the tropical nursery perfectly. I love how all the different shades of green in the room look together.
You might also remember this gold starburst mirror from our old house. I decided to complement the warm hues in the room by adding in a little bit of gold with the mirror, the gold standing lamp, the curtain rod and some of the various frames.
Jungle Room Art Shelf
I’ma huge fan of wall art, especially for children’s rooms. I feel like it’s the perfect way to tell a story about the room and the child who occupies it. Minted has long been my go-to when it comes to wall art, whether for kid’s rooms or the living room.
I chose a mix of both prints and frames from Minted to help tie in the colorway and the theme of Maxon’s nursery. I especially love his custom “Maxon’s Man Cave” print we got from Minted.
Maxon’s Jungle Theme Christmas Tree
I also wanted to give you a peek at Maxon’s jungle-inspired Christmas tree. Since Everly has her very own pink Christmas tree in her room, it was only appropriate to start Maxon a tree of his own.
This tree was the second tallest in the set of three skinny Christmas trees we got this year from Grandin Road. It was the perfect size for Maxon’s small nursery.
I love the way we were able to tie in the green, yellow and natural brown colors of his room with the ornaments on the tree. The gorgeous tiger, elephant and giraffe hand blown glass ornaments by Old World Christmas were the perfect finishing touch.
