It’s a little difficult to think about spring fashion when the temps are below freezing in half the country (sorry y’all!!), but believe it or not, spring is just around the corner, and I’m kicking things off with a fun and flirty little spring transitional look featuring the most darling burnt orange polka dot dress. With a darling little ruffled slit that’s equal parts sweet and edgy + a price tag under $50, this little dress should be making its way into your closet this spring.

Fellow polka dot lovers rejoice – the vintage trend is here to stay through spring, and though I may be biased because I’m a Longhorn, I’m especially LOVING the print in the burnt orange hue found in my dress. The earth tone adds a modern look to the classic print, and also makes it a perfect piece to take you from early spring all the way into fall. Besides the amazing price point and the practically perfect polka dot print, I also love how versatile this dress is. Thanks to the silk-like material, the dress can be dressed up for a date night with the hubs (on a warmer day, go bare shouldered, when it’s cooler, pop over a sassy black leather jacket and strappy sandals!) or paired with a more casual daytime ensemble like I did by popping on a denim jacket,

To accessorize, I started with my extra-comfortable white block heel pumps (similar here, on sale!!) I was unsure about these shoes when I bought them, but I’ve been so surprised at how much I’ve worn them and I always get compliments when I wear them out, too! Tried and true, every Longhorn gal knows a pop of turquoise is the perfect compliment to burnt orange, and these gorgeous beaded statement earrings by Lisi Lerch were the perfect addition. Another big trend for spring…scarfs as hair ties! Pop it over your ponytail, wear as a headband or add to your half up hair do like I did in today’s spring look with this printed silk scarf ponytail I scooped up for just $22! Another trend that’s back from last year…rattan and straw bags. I got this one last season (similar) and it was perfect for pairing with this orange polka dot dress.

Stay tuned for more spring outfit ideas as the warmer weather approaches (hopefully!)
