My Go-To Tex Mex Spot

Confession: this girl LOVES Tex-Mex. It might actually be my favorite type of cuisine. Probably the worst symptom I experienced during my first trimester of pregnancy was an aversion to the food I love so much, but when my Tex-Mex cravings came back in the second trimester, I immediately headed off to one of my go-to spots for fresh, Tex-Mex food:  On The Border. From the delicious chips, queso and guac (just writing about it is making me hungry!) to sizzling skillets of fajitas (and the refreshing, tangy margaritas that I miss so much!), On The Border has the most fresh and delicious Tex-Mex food to indulge all of your cravings.

My sister Tiffany and I recently had a girl’s lunch at On The Border to relax, catch up and taste some delicious menu items they’re offering up. To start, we couldn’t resist their free, bottomless chips and salsa. I love that their chips are perfectly thin and crispy, but not too thin to where they break when you dip into the salsa. Rare is the day that I don’t order queso and guac to go with my chips and salsa, and On The Border’s signature queso and guacamole are as delicious as they come.

Next up, we ordered a few entrees. Starting with an all-time favorite of mine, On The Border’s Ultimate Fajitas, with Mesquite-grilled steak and chicken, sautéed shrimp, carnitas and sautéed vegetables. We opted for the combo with chicken, beef and shrimp. Fajitas are probably in my top 10 favorite meals to order. I love that they come with all the fixin’s so you can create your own perfect taco. Plus, they’re great for sharing!

The rumors are true y’all…being pregnant definitely increases your appetite. Normally, a full order fajitas would be more than enough food, even split, but since I’m eating for two these days, Tiffany and I decided to try a little something else on their menu. The fresh, hand-rolled tomatillo enchiladas did not disappoint.

I think it’s safe to say that baby girl is gonna be a Tex-Mex lover too! 😉 Click here to find and On The Border location close to you!
