Good morning! There’s something so exciting about refurbishing furniture. When I graduated college and decided I no longer needed this black desk, it was placed by my door to be thrown away. But as a new pinner, I had a last minute idea. Convert the desk into something I needed – a vanity!  Gone were the days of oversized sorority tees, nike shorts, ponytails and no makeup. I had a job in fashion, so I needed a place to get ready each morning. $40 and a trip to Home Depot later, and I was equipped for my fIrst furniture DIY.  I absolutely love light blue-green hues, so choosing a paint color was easy – I went with BEHR’s “Balmy Seas”.  In a small apartment, this desk-turned-vanity has been used daily and served as an essential space saver, storing my makeup, excessive jewelry collection and more. It’s also been fun to decorate. I snuck a bit of a Disney Cinderella theme with framed art from the movie and this pretty coffee cup to stow my makeup brushes. You can also see a peek of my wall collage, which features more framed art, like this custom illustration by Carrie Beth Taylor featuring Kendra Scott Earrings – a constant reminder that there’s nothing a tip bun and sunnies can’t fix.  Stay tuned for more details on my room.

Fair-well xx,
